Addilyn"s POV:

"Addilyn Maddox Thompson get you butt down here right now", my twin sister Adley yelled from downstairs. "Coming", I yelled back. "You better or else I'm going to march up these stairs and drag you down from your blonde roots! Understand me?" she huffed. See this what I have to deal with every day. Lucky me! *note the sarcasm*.

Oh, so rude of me I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Addilyn, but my friends call me Addy. I'm 22 years old and I live in Manhattan New York with my sister Adley, my 23-year-old brother Andrew, and year old best friend Emerson. Your probably wondering how all four of us can fit into one of those small dingy two bedroom apartment in the rural area of Manhattan, when actually we've never been in one of those 'small dingy two bedroom apartments', because we live in a 5 bedroom condo with 2 bathrooms a decent sized furnished kitchen and a living room that looks like the bachelor pads you see in TV shows.

The thing is that we moved to New York on my 16th birthday when our foster parents died from a freak accident, but they left us enough money for us to pay for college, move to this condo, and still have enough money to last us 3 more years of rent and house needs.

Right now we are running to the police station for information that they dug up 3 years after our parent's accident. "Addy please get down here or else we'll be late to the appointment", Andy said. "Ok I'm here calm down, don't get your pants in a bunch," I exclaimed with a sly smirk. "Thank heavens, I thought I would get married, have babies, and die by the time you came down," Adey said with sarcasm dripping at each word and an identical sly smirk on her face. "Adey doesn't start, Addy don't reply and let's go before I'm the one getting married, having kids, and dying while you two bicker. So please I'm begging you let's go".

We got into our black 2017 ford escape and drove to the New York City Police Department 24 Precinct which looked like a really old building with supposed red bricks with a ring of mold that was turning grey. We exited the car and made our way to the reception when at the desk they asked for identification so they asked for names and I.D's and then told us to wait in the chairs at the far corner of the room while she went to inform the officer of our arrival. While waiting I was shivering so bad my teeth were chattering not from the cold, but because of the nervousness I was feeling and how scared on what the results would come out as. I knew from the beginning it was not an accident but murder because a freak accident would not leave a person so battered to the point that they were unrecognizable to their relatives.

The secretary at the front desk came out and told us that the officer was ready to see us and that we should go in. We knocked on the door and the voice that answered sounded so familiar I just couldn't pair the voice to a face. The minute I stepped in my faced paled so fast I felt lightheaded and I just couldn't come to comprehend that the person who caused me so much  pain, heartache, and the lack of sleep was in front of in the uniform of a person who is supposed to protect us not the opposite and even had the decency to smirk after he recognized my face. And just as I thought the day couldn't get any better *note the sarcasm* the person that I thought was gone from my life was gone for good  stepped into the room and just like my own personal light bulb was switched off, I caught the devil himself with an evil smirk on his face and just as darkness was about to consume me I managed to choke out the name that I screamed daily for mercy, "Aaron" and then just like a candle I was put out.
