Addilyn's POV:
I've always been a girl who spoke her mind, even when not needed. I've never been a girl to beat around the bush when explaining something. My foster parents always told me that one day and I quote, ' That big' ole mouth of yours will get you in trouble' and truth be told here I am in a cell at the New York 24 Precinct wearing what I assume is an orange jumpsuit that I can guarantee has someone's sweat and semen. I mean you are in a 200-year old city jail that has not been refurbished or done laundry in years so obviously, somewhere down the line someone got bored and had to do the deed.
You see it all started on a normal Friday afternoon right when school ended. I was walking down the street and ...... you know what cut the bullshit I'm getting straight to the chase. This is what happened:
*RIIIIINNNNGG!!!* Finally, the school's over. I always wonder why we had to do school. I mean we are going to end up losing all that knowledge in a matter of years. So why waste our time learning anyways, and I know if you want to have a great future you need to learn from now, but like is it worth it. To me not so much.
I jolted out of my thoughts to my phone ringing and guess who it was......, yep it was my brother telling as of the third time that he can't pick me up so I have to walk home. I've never been really upset when it comes to something like that or my siblings bailing out on me because I've had it happen all my life. From my biological parents to my foster parents and to a particular person who I thought I dearly loved. People bailing has become a common thing in my life.
So here I am walking down the street at sunset in the most dangerous place in town where gangs rule and rapist lurk. I know it doesn't sound appealing, but it's the only way home since Andrew has the car, Avery went somewhere with a friend and I am apparently friendless other than Emerson, but she's out with her boyfriend so I'm left to walk home.
As I'm walking I hear voices and footsteps. Thinking the worst and always jumping to conclusions I turn around and start out spitting profanities, and being the obnoxious girl I am I don't stop to see who it is. When I see who it I make a run for making the officers think that I'm a convict selling drugs and running from getting caught. When he finally catches me and before he starts talking I spit out more profanities and end up getting cuffs slapped onto my hands and in the backseat of a police car.
So that is how I ended up in here so late at night waiting for my turn to use the phone in order to call Andrew to come to the station and while he's at it stop at an ATM to withdraw $550 in order to bail me out.
"Mr. Police officer may I use the phone now", I ask with the slightest bit of sass
"You may, but you only have 5 minutes."
"Ok, Thank you". I move to the phone after he opens the cell, and dial Andy's number. After two rings he picks up, and I have to move my ear from the phone so my ear doesn't explode.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN. I SEARCHED EVERYWHERE FOR YOU I THOUGHT YOU GOT KIDNAPPED," Andy yells after answering.
"Calm down Andy come down to the 24th precinct and while your coming stop at the ATM and withdraw $550 to bail me out with,".
"ADDILYN MADDOX THOMPSON YOU BETTER HAVE NOT DONE SOMETHING ILLEGAL OR SO GOD HELP ME I WILL........."
"Andy I gotta go. BYE," I answer and cut the phone before he answers.
The Officer puts me back in my cell and for the next 10 min, I stare at the ceiling till I hear the yelling of my overprotective brother. I don't even wait for Andy when he pays and I get uncuffed and out of the cell, because I, make a run to the car and jump in and plug my earphones into my ears and blast the music so I don't hear Andy scolding me for getting arrested. The minute we get home I jump out of the car run inside and take the stairs two at a time to get to our level instead of taking the lift. When I'm about to enter my room I hear Andy yell from the doorway,
"Don't think you're off the loose were talking about this tomorrow, but right now you can go to bed".
I groan but go to bed with the note of getting the biggest scolding of my life by Andy, Avy, and Emy all at different times of the day and regret ever talking to the officer and running from him as well, and on that note, I fall into a deep slumber.
