His body mimicked almost like jello, his coordination out of place as he stumbled forward and connected his fist to my face.

I pummeled back, a scream following after as I held on to my nose, my body writhing at the abrupt pain. Tears invaded my vision, but I could make out Shawn's broad figure that peered down at me with a lackadaisical look in his eyes, Jack pushing him back harshly. The two started getting aggressive towards each other, especially Jack as he peered down at me with worry in his eyes.

Okay. I take back what I said about parties. They fucking suck.

As the scene unraveled before her, Camila stood there with wide eyes, her hands covering her mouth in shock. She immediately looked in my direction and hurriedly crouched down beside me. "(Y/N)? Hey, hey. Let me see." She pleaded, attempting to free my hands from cupping my left eye.

I groaned, my body slightly tossing around at the aching pain. It'd take awhile for the pain to subside, but I could only think that this was an accident. Shawn was messed up drunk, and it wouldn't be like him to be so impulsive if he were sober. I sighed, already knowing that the day after would probably consist of news spreading around school. Not to mention there'd be a whopping purple-yellow bruise around my eye to confirm one's suspicion. Great.

"I'm fine, Camila." I mumbled, sighing reluctantly as the Cuban pried my hands from my face, gasping quietly to herself at the horrific sight. Judging by how fast she composed herself, it may have not been that bad. Hopefully not.

Looking over to the drunken boy, I watched as he carelessly begun to throw punches in Jack's direction. The tan-skinned male easily dodged a few of them, the anger apparent on his face as he growled and crouched down low to tackle the Canadian down.

"Jack! Get off him!" I shouted, looking at Camila apologetically as I pulled away from her and yanked at Jack's shoulders. Pain began to make its way to my head now, a small ache causing my face to wince in pain. Surprisingly, the strength I had was enough to yank Jack off of Shawn, who's face was bruised with a few lacerations above his eyebrows. Jack looked better– the corner of his lip busted open. What a mess.

Huffing, Jack turned around as a couple of people rushed to pick Shawn up on his feet, pulling him away. Realization dawned on him as soon as he took one glance at my face, his body lunging forward while his hands caressed my face carefully. "Hey, are you hurt? I mean, does it hurt? C'mon, let's go get you some ice." He said, offering a worried smile as he gently placed a hand on the end of my back. I reciprocated with a smile in thanks, letting him guide me to wherever.

The pain in my head sort of went away. It must've been the sudden exertion from when I had prevented Jack from sending Shawn's face to the plastic surgeon. The only feeling I had left was the immense throbbing on the side of my face, and the need to lock myself in my room to sleep.

"Actually, Jack," I began, the said man bringing his attention towards me. "I think I just want to go home now. It's been a long day," I chuckled. An appeased look was on his face, adding a smile on top of that to enlighten the situation at hand. He must've been taken aback by the fact that I wasn't bawling my eyes out right now. Although internally? I was. That sucker punch, regardless if it was on purpose or not, hurt like hell. I was surprising myself with how I was handling it in all honesty.

"Okay, well. Let's get you home then." He replied, starting in the direction to the parking lot but a hand tugged me back. I was met with the face of Camila who wore saddened eyes, and within' them was a mixture of disappointment and embarrassment.
