Camila's POV
I could barely spare a glance at Shawn after the incident with (Y/N).
Lauren and Dinah went on about how I should give him a chance to explain, but lately I haven't been in the mood to even say one word to him.
"Mija, are you home?" A voice called.
"Sí, mama! I'm in my room!" I replied.
"Can you come down really quick?"
Skipping down the case of stairs, my mom was leant against the kitchen counter– a pair of glasses rested on the bridge of her nose and her hair pulled up in a ponytail like it usually was. As soon as I walked in, her face grew into a warm smile. "Hey, sweetie. How was that party last night? Did you get to see everybody?"
I shrugged, taking a seat across from her. My hand reached out to pick at a banana, peeling away at the skin to reveal the delicious fruit. "It was okay. I met that one girl I saw at the beach the one day I took Sofi with me!" I said, a smile brimming my lips.
"Really? I remember you mentioning her. Did you take pictures?" My mom asked, making me hum in response as I chewed quietly.
"Ermm... No. We just talked and had a good time. We decided to ditch the party and hang out somewhere else," I trailed off. The night of the party, I couldn't quite forget the way (Y/N) easily shrugged off what had happened. She didn't seem very upset, but it's not like she didn't have the appropriate reactions. When she had fallen asleep in my arms, I admit that I was shamelessly admiring how peaceful she seemed. Observing the blemish on her face, it made me want to keep her close to me at all costs. She was special– delicate even. She was like a rose, beautiful but adorned with thorns that made her unique.
My mom looked pleased from my response, giving me a nod as she shuffled to my side and smoothed my hair. "I'm glad. Listen, I've got work now, but do you think you could pick up Sofi after school? That'd help me a lot. I've got some papers I need to get done by tonight and I'm sure Sofi would love to see you."
"Of course, mama. It's not a problem. Will you be home in time for dinner?" I asked, swiveling on the stool I sat on to face the older woman who leant over to grab her purse from off the shoe cabinet.
"Mmhm! I'll come home with dinner! Be good today, mi princesa." She cooed, making me nod my head as she waved goodbye and left through the front door.

"Have you talked with Shawn yet?" Dinah asked, immediately taking her normal place beside me as I had strolled through the school's hallway, my books hugged to my chest.
