Viggo's POV"Daddy!" A young sounding voice called, echoing through the corridors of the hollow ship.
"Yes my littler Huntress?" I asked, smiling kindly and scooping my daughter up in my arms.
"Can I go up there?" She asked, pointing above deck.
"Not yet kiddo, I wouldn't want you getting hurt. I have some work to do, why don't you go play with Uncle Ryker?" I said, booping her nose and earning a giggle in response.
"Okie Daddy!" She squealed, wriggling in my arms and running off as soon as I put her down. I chuckled to myself, and thought about her mother.
"She's beautiful isn't she?" Angeline said, slightly bouncing our newborn daughter in her arms.
"Of course she is, she's your daughter." I replied, kissing her cheek and wrapping my arms around her waist.
"Our daughter." She corrected me, looking back at me with a smile.
"What will we call her?" I asked, caressing the little girls head.
"I really like Ashia. It means Hope and Life. What do you think?" Angeline said, looking at our baby once again.
"I love it." I told her. My wife placed our baby in her crib and walked out of the nursery, into our own room to get ready for bed. I changed out of my everyday clothes and into my pyjamas, climbing onto my side of bed and pulling the furs over myself.
"Goodnight." Angeline yawned, kissing my forehead.
"I love you."
"Love you, too."
Crash!
"What was that?" I asked, shooting awake.
"I don't know, but Viggo it came from Ashia's room!" Angeline cried.
I got out of the bed, grabbing an axe and racing into the nursery, Angeline right behind me. We opened the door to see the window torn open, rain flooding into the room. Over at the crib there was a Triple Stryke curiously looking at our baby.
Angeline ran over to it and started pounding on its back. "You leave my baby alone!" She cried.
I ran over with the axe, and swung it, barely missing it's face. It staggered back, and fled out the window wrapping its tail around Angeline as it went.
"Viggo!!" She cried, stretching her hand out towards me, tears in her eyes.
"Angeline!!" I screamed after her, tears flooding my own eyes. I jumped out the window after her, running into the forest after them. But it was too late. I heard the screams of my wife, following it deeper into the woods. I saw her laying on the ground with a wound overflowing with blood on her torso. I ran to her, dropping to my knees and knelt next to her.
"P-promise me Viggo to keep it our little girl safe.." she said in a pained whisper.
"I promise! I love you so much." I told her
"I-I love you too." She reached up and undid the heart necklace that I gave her when we first met.
"Give this to our daughter on her eighteenth birthday. Make sure she doesn't forget me." She said, handing it to me and kissing me before she died.

I walked back to our house, holding the necklace in my palm. My face was tear soaked, mingling with the raindrops. I walked into the front door, closing it behind me and walking up to the nursery where Ashia was crying. I picked her up and hushed her.
"Shh, don't cry sweetheart. Daddy's here now. Everything will be alright." I reassured her.
Oh, how I wish that statement were true.
