On The Roof

I watched him reach over to the side of his glove department and pull out a medal bar. He slid it into his pocket so that it stuck out.

"What the heck." I had a huge grin as I said it.

He gets out of the truck and comes around to other side to open my door for me. "Protection." He tries to stay serious but he had that crooked smile on his face that I melted over.

We walk at a good pace through the park and talk some more until I pointed out that I could see the pool from where we were. All of the lights were on to make it look like somebody was there.

We stood there and looked at the glowing building for awhile in silence until Everett finally said, "Wanna go over there and get a closer look?"

I looked up at him to see if he was actually serious.

We ran all the way around the perimeter of the building and went through the back gate. Everett found a little hole and we squeezed through it together. As we got closer, I could see the pool I practiced in everyday. It looked so different when it was all still like that.

Everett climbed onto the vent/air conditioning thing and took my hand and helped pull me up with him.

Pretty soon, I was cradled on his lap as we made out on the roof of the Clovis Aquatic Center. He joked about how I have so much hair and how it was getting in the way. He turned music on with his phone, we laughed when stupid songs came on like Red Cotton Eyed Joe and he said, "Try and kiss me to this song." And we died laughing because we actually tried! It was so funny, oh my gosh.

Later on, I turned on some of my songs on my phone, I put on Funeral by Band of Horses. "You know this song." I say as I press play and set it down on the edge of the roof.

"Do I?" He says.

I started kissing down his jaw and around his neck again, ignoring his question. He went along with it and stood up, with me still cradled in his arms. He walks over to the largest green electrical box and sets me on it without breaking the kiss. I wrap my legs around him as he kisses all the way around my neck, shoulders and arms.

"Don't leave any marks." I tease.

"I won't, I promise." I laugh and he plants a small kiss on my forehead.

I slowly fall onto my back as he trails kisses all the way down my stomach. He lifts my shirt up and runs his hands all the way down my back. I keep my hands in his hair as he continues to kiss my waistline. I close my eyes and try to feel and remember every second of this moment. I wish we could stay like this forever.

After a few minutes the song had ended. Everette's head was rested on my bare stomach as I brushed my finger tips up and down his neck and all the way down into his shirt on his back. I wondered if it felt any good to him as it did to me. I looked down at him so I could see his face, his eyes were closed.

He was so sweet... He was getting tan from working outside at his friend's farm. He had long eyelashes, and nice lips. My thumb brushes across his bottom lip and he smiles with his eyes still closed. I sit up slowly and he presses me into him and kisses the back of my neck again.

"My shirt is practically off." I say giggling.

"I'm sorry, " He stops kissing me and looks at me square in the eye. "Is this going too far?"

I blink at him for a second but then pull his face close to mine. He doesn't kiss me, just touches our foreheads together and continues to look at my eyes.

"I'm okay." I whisper. "It's okay." I try pulling his body closer to mine, but he didn't move an inch. It was getting windier out. I wanted his warmth.

"Are you sure?" He says, barely a whisper. Resisting.

"Everett, I promise. I would've shooed you off or placed your hand somewhere else if I didn't want it there. Thank you for asking, though." I smile and close the space between our lips. Our mouths moved in a hundred different patterns all at once.

He allows me to pull him closer. I wrap my legs around him again as he hugs me tighter. I kiss the crook of his neck and underneath his earlobe.

Oh, everything about what we were doing right now was perfect. I didn't believe that there was anything else that could be even better about this moment. I don't want to ever break up what we have. Not now, not soon, not later, not ever. I love this, and I want it to last.
