They say your life flashes before your eyes just before you die. That wasn't the case for me as the newly waxed floors rose to meet my falling form. Air whipped my hair and dress as I plummeted down, down, down. I heard screams and shouting and chaos. Looking around, I was numb to the sights I saw in the moments before I would hit the ground and shatter like the porcelain doll I am. Scream was in front of Blair in a flash, slicing her throat open. I could hear her gurgle as she choked on her own blood before clapsing into a bloody heap over the whistling of the wind. They all stared, shell shocked, at the still form that was once Blair, her beautiful face covered by her black hair knotted with her own tissue. I helplessly accepted my inevitable fate. I didn't want to be awake to feel the pain of shattering into a million tiny pieces, so I let the dark close in.

My unnaturally large eyes fluttered open. I was lying in my bed, the oh-so familiar room surrounding me. I sighed, shutting my eyes again. Was it too much to hope this nightmare would be over? I guess it was. That's when I decided that I was going to leave at all cost. I fliched as someone knocked on my bedroom door directly infront of my bed.

"Go away." I called, not bothering to hide my aggravation. Suddenly, the door swung open. In walked Scream, his hair ponytailed and face masked. It took every ounce of my strength to not roll my eyes. Just the person I wanted to see. He swooped down over me like a halk, planting a kiss on my forehead. I felt bile burn the back of my throat. I tried to reach up and slap him to no prevail. Why couldn't I move? With a labored effort, my index finger twitched. He noticed. With a cruel yet caring smile, he leaned back to sit on the edge of the bed.

"I see the medicine is working properly." He smirked, his eyes gleaning with mischief. I felt my heart beating faster against my sternum, trying to break free and run away from his leering gaze. He must've noticed the pained and frightened look on my face as I struggled to get up, not so much as moving a toe. He chuckled as my heart beat faster. "No need to be frightened, Darling. I wouldn't dare do anything to hurt you." He whispered, his voice silver dagers in my ears.

"Yet here. I. Am." I replied through clenched teeth, at least my mouth wasn't paralyzed. Scream tsked like a disappointed schoolmarm.

"Would you rather be shattered into a million tiny pieces?" He asked, laying his hand on top of mine.

"I would rather be shattered than stuck in this hell hole." I spat at him. A shiver passed through me as his hand turned ice cold. He quickly pulled his hand back. Standing abruptly, he adjusted his jacket and strode over to the door. He opened the door and stepped out, looking over his shoulder to reply to the hateful comment I instantly regretted to my core. He thought better of it and stepped out of the room, slamming the door behind him. I flinched as the sound echoed through the room, my limbs tingling as feeling slowly seeped back into them.

Just as the sun began it's long decent, I made my decision. In the fadding light I stuffed necessities into a black leather bag and after a long search, I found the bag I showed up with. Taking out a wad of money and stuffing it into the backpack, I slid on the black and grey combat boots I found in the closet that matched perfectly with the navy green jacket, plain purple shirt, and dark grey pleated skirt. It took me a little over an hour to search through the frilly doll clothes to find somewhat plain-looking clothes. I had a faint idea of where I was heading, an apartment complex not too far away from here. As quietly as possible, I slid open my window and looked around for a way out. A service latter hung beside the window, reaching a foot or two above the ground. I smiled and swung my legs onto the latter, this was going to be easy. If I hadn't been so determined on escaping, I would've realised it was too easy.
