*flashback*
My heart ached as I drove away from her that night. She might be feeling lonely but I couldn't tell her that my mom is sick or else she'd worry about us. It was difficult for me to leave her like that without telling her but I couldn't see her in pain either.

I flew to China and went straight to the hospital to meet mom. I barged into her room just as I found it and saw mom resting peacefully on the bed. I walked towards her and touched her hand. She opened her eyes and looked up at me. Seeing her like this made my inside twist and my head ache. Her eyes were glittering with fresh tears.

"It's good to see you son!" She said as I sat next to her bed and she ran her fingers through my hair.

I kissed her hand, "I'm here mom, you'll be alright!"

"It's time to leave now son, I only wanted your father to be here now and I'd die in peace," she replied as she closed her eyes to prevent the tears from falling.

"It's okay mom, you don't need him when I'm here!" I tried to console her as I rubbed my hand slightly over the back of hers.

She kept her eyes closed for some time, maybe she was trying to compose herself, then spoke, "All my life, I've only wanted to have your father... he was all that I ever wanted but he left me... left me after you turned three... I could never see him again..." she kept sobbing after every sentence. I tried to console her but she didn't stop, "...it was all because of her... she was young and pretty... she wanted money and made him lust over her... she didn't care about her daughter or her already dead husband... she destroyed my life to enjoy hers... she took him away from me... he left me..." and she cried harder.

The line showing her heartbeat started going very high and came out very intensely, the instrument started helping as my mom cried harder every time. I got scared, I shouted to call the doctor and a few nurses came in. I stood up and sided away, giving my mom in their hands. Now she was having shocks, she kept throwing harder on the bed every time and her heartbeat went wilder. Then it died, the line showing her heartbeat, it died, it was just a straight line moving across the screen and my mom lying on the bed now, no shocks.

This was too much for me. I pushed the nurse aside and took her in my arms, I tried to wake her up and kept stroking her, hoping that she'd get up. My eyes kept watering and I kept shouting at mom to wake up but it was no use. She was gone. She had left me. And it was all dad's fault, it was her fault, who made my dad leave mom. I hate them.

"Oh, so you are Kris! It's nice to see you, you are a very handsome young man," she complimented me as she wrapped her arm with dad's and rubbed the side of her body with his.

"Dad, I'm here to talk to you!" I ignored her and addressed dad, who was secretly smiling at her as she drew herself closer to him more.

"Anabeth can stay here, you talk!" He said sternly.

"I came here to ask you why you didn't attend mom's funeral," I asked in a harder tone myself.

His brows knitted together in the middle and his glasses slipped a little down on his nose, "Your mom would never want that!" He replied shortly, trying to prevent argument.

"If only she had not come, mom would still be alive!" I shouted as I pointed at the ugly, perverted woman standing next to him.

"Shut up, you disrespectful child!" My dad barked at me.

"I know it's her fault, she even killed her husband and abandoned her daughter!" I protested.

"Hey! I never killed my husband, he died during his army fight. And Jennie, well, she never wanted to be with me either," she replied to me instead of dad.
