The Other Side

A few weeks have passed since Frisk ate dinner at the Dreemur's house and Chara shared some of her past as an orphan at Ghaster's foster home. While they haven't really talked more on it, Frisk was still confused on why that would lead to the others not liking the Dreemur's anymore as she continued staring at her ceiling on a sunny Sunday afternoon. She was eventually brought out of her thoughts when a certain spastic young lad knocked on her door

"FRISK! ALL OF US ARE GOING TO GO TO THE FOOTBALL GAME AND WE WERE HOPING YOU COULD JOIN US! SO WHAT DO YOU SAY?" Papyrus shouted clearly excited to be doing anything other than just lounging around and doing nothing.

Frisk swore it sometimes looked like Papyrus would die if he got too bored. She didn't have anything better to do that day Chara was out of town much to Frisks dismay, they had been getting closer the more time they spent with each other and her feelings have grown so much that when they're apart she can barely stand it but she represses the thoughts of telling her best friend lest she lose her. So she got out of bed and changed into some casual clothes grabbed her glasses and phone from the night stand and opened the door to see a literally vibrating Papyrus in the door way. She smiled at him and he got out of the way letting her through then closing her door for her.

"SPLENDID EVERYONE ELSE IS OUTSIDE ALREADY SO LETS NOT KEEP THEM WAITING!" he said from behind her slightly pushing her to make them go faster causing Frisk to giggle at his antics and went downstairs a little faster. When they reached the front yard she saw Alphys by Undyne the two almost connected at the hip as it always has been since she's been in the foster home. Sans was leaning on the wall next to the door waiting for his brother not really expecting Frisk to be following behind so he bumped into her when she stepped out

"Oh my bad kid didn't think he'd actually convince ya to come with, in fact I thought you would've been with your 'friends' today" almost spitting at the word.

"Chara's outta town and I was getting bored inside so I decided to tag along, if that's ok" Frisk said ignoring the huff at her friends name.

"Yeah it's fine, come on games gunna start soon" with that said the group began to make their way to the schools football field.
Now that she was finally doing something with them the thoughts of their side of what's been going on between them and the Dreemurs started eating at her but she shook them off and decided if the opportunity arose she'd ask.

When they arrived at the ticket booth since it was a home game they just needed to show their school ID's and they got in for free. When everyone one was at the snack bar Sans asked what everyone wanted, when it got to what Frisk wanted she kindly declined because she didn't have the money to pay for anything. Since she hadn't found a job yet. Sans shook his head and laughed

"I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't paying for it, so what do you want?"he said turning back around

"I'll just take a soda and a pretzel please, and I'll pay you back when I can" she said quietly.
When everyone got what they had asked for and Sans had payed they made their way onto the bleachers. They all sat together towards the top in a secluded spot not because they had to but a majority of the group weren't good with crowds so they tended to choose these types of spots for the comforting mood to the others while Frisk was one of the ones that didn't like crowds she still wasn't totally comfortable and just chalked it up as it was her first school event she's been to since coming to the school. When everyone was settled they began idle chatter until the game started.
The further into the game it got the more comfortable Frisk became eventually cheering for the home team and catching the attention of Asreal who had been walking back from the snack shack he looked her direction and met her eyes with a wave and a smile before going to return to his own seat the interaction missed by all the others except Sans who decided not to say anything not wanting to ruin the mood so instead.

"Ya know I never thought outta anyone in our group you'd be one of the cheerleaders" Sans teased looking at a flustered Frisk

"To be honest I didn't either, I don't even fully know what's happening still heheh... but it's more the matter of breaking my shell than caring about it." She replied with determination in her eyes.

Towards the third quarter mostly everyone from their group had finished their snack and Papyrus was sent to get more looking at the score board while in line it showed 46:32 a semi close game with their home team winning being one for good time instead of disappointment, before he turned around a familiar voice caught his attention.

"Yeah so I told her, I thought we were going to use Frisk to tear the family apart from the inside, but my daft sister only frowned and gave me a false reason as to why she'd changed her mind saying 'their suspicious as is they wouldn't buy that it was Frisk by herself let's give it more time' of course I agreed but I know the real reason it's because-" Papyrus had heard enough and had been to the front of the line so he scurried away sending his brother a text

I have discovered something, we shall talk about it later for now I return with our goods!

With the text sent he climbed back to his spot on the bleacher getting an acknowledgment through a nod from his brother when they sat down. The game all but finish with a small lead on their side showed as the final score

"Seems fitting I'd miss the rest of the game to feed everyone else" he said a bit down trodden getting apologetic looks from the others but smiling them off "it's fine as long as we won I am happy with the results not the trial" he said standing back up along with the others and making their way through the crowd when he got close enough to Sans he looked around for Frisk and found her conversing with the girls up at the front turning to his brother saying "seems you were correct" he started getting a questioning look from Sans before he began explaining what he'd heard in line. While that happens Frisk was busy talking about what would happen when they got to school the next day trying not to mention Chara too much she thought of a new question

"So, why did things change between you guys and the Dreemurs" she mumbled loud enough for Alphys to hear the girl turning with a frown to look at her friend "people say things one time but their actions disprove it later it's no different with what happened between us and them but going and harassing us makes it hard to restore friends ship hmm?" She said trying not to put too much into the response. Frisk looked down seeming to find the sidewalk more important at the moment, piecing things together quietly on their way back. When they reached home she yawned and gave everyone a goodnight then made her way to her room. Before she could do anything she felt a vibration and checked her phone finding a single text from Chara.

C: You better come to school tomorrow, I've got something for you!

Frisk smiled at her friends apparent giddiness

F: I don't plan on missing if it means I get a gift from you. Good night!

After it sent she sent the text it hit her that what she said might've lead on to more than what she wanted and the text she received back didn't help

C: aww you always make me feel so special ;) night!

Putting her phone down and covering her face with her hands to hide her blush from no one in particular she cursed what her friend could do to her.

"So that's basically what Pap heard" Sans said to the other gathered around the table

"That bitch!" Undyne shouted in a whisper "should we tell her?" Alphys said thinking about how it would make Frisk feel "no, it looks like I have to have a little chat with our old friends" Sans said almost spitting the last word.

..... Sooo, I'm sorry this took so long to make I hit a major block and when I came back I couldn't remember where I wanted this chapter to go, nonetheless here it is! Hope you guys enjoy! I am back!
