He had a future, they had no heart.
He had somewhere going, just didn’t know where to start.
Just some healthy advice would’ve played its part,
but there was not one man who tried to save this boys heart.
They told him he was ugly, and that he just wasn’t smart.
Told him his answers were wrong from the very start.
His old folks were not much different, as everything got worse whenever he reached home.
His mom calls him useless and His dad calls him stupid.
And He only has friends because they make money off him.
And his baby brother doesn’t want to be seen near him.
And they only thing that listens is the cats that run from him.
Don’t get me wrong, Sometimes, there’s a stranger who takes the time out to ask,
“Hey, are you okay? Do you need any help today?”
But that’s only because they don’t see his face, he would say.
As a screen separates him from display.
But just for the thought he tries it anyway,
“Hey, Im fine, taking life one step at a time”
But inside, each step creates a path that leading him a stray,
From the life he was meant to portray,
And everytime he looks at himself, he thinks:
I hate you, I loathe you, you stupid, useless being. I hate the way I have to be you and I wish you would just waste away. I wish when I look in the mirror I wont see you another day.
But hey… that’s just life right? That’s just... his fight right? When he cant spend the night in a bed because his folks don’t think he’s worthy, that’s just their life, right? I bet you see it differently now.
Now you, go home and think about who’s light your putting out
By opening your mouth
With nothing good to say
Turning someone’s heart away
Robbing them of the happiness they could be living today.
And finally... Don't live this way because,
There’s nothing stronger than the words you say.
