Deaths Request

The trees sway in the breeze,
Carrying the dust on it's wings.
The fallen a fraction of it,
Who have died, rot and become dust.

The seas, now lakes, lakes, ponds.
The oceans, now seas and so on.
Mother Earth dies slowly, but surely,
And takes her product in her ruin.

I have seen many tragedies
Whale carcass' uncovered by the sun
Dog wastes feeding the rodents
Cat intestines painting the roads
None of it seeming real enough

The only people left, struggle.
A small, small amount of us,
Struggle in what life is now.
Dreams of the singing birds,
That now crow and scream at our legs.

Times are hard, harder than
The skin we must now wear
Against the sun, wind and cold.
But we brought this on ourselves.
Humans polluted, poisoned the ground and air.
We brought our doom to our doorstep.
The ultimate price we now pay, Deaths Request.

End
