I never usually cried. But at that time loads of tears streamed down my face. I was only twelve. I wished I could live a full life. But I wasn't going to. It was sad. I wished it would just end and I would wake up in my bed at home in my comforting Minecraft themed room like it was all just a bad dream. But I wasn't going to. The fall seemed to take forever. I wished we would just hit the ground and get it over with. And that wish came true. Sort of. We didn't fall on the ground. We fell in a lake. And... we didn't die. My dad said nervously, " hurry, hold your breath, jump out of the car, and swim up." We did what he told us to do and pulled ourselves up onto a rocky shore. My dad's head was the last to pop up. I laid on my back and stared up at the top of the canyon. It was so high. How would we ever get out of there? Then my dad said to my mom, " This is all your fault Britney! If you didn't throw your hair in my face, then I wouldn't have made the wrong turn." Then my mom yelled back, "No, it's Hallie's fault, Mark! If she didn't yell 'EW' I wouldn't have gotten worried and turned around to see what was wrong!" And then I sat up and yelled to mom, " No, it's Justin Bieber's fault, mom! If he wasn't stupid and ugly I wouldn't have yelled 'EW' when his song came on!" " I'm not in this!" my brother mumbled. Then when I realized the sentence I just said, the corners of my mouth curled up ever so slightly. Then it turned into a huge grin. Then I giggled. Then I laughed. Before I knew it I was rolling on the floor laughing. My brother smiled and joined in. My parents looked at each other with a confused look on their faces. Then they looked down at us and couldn't hold it in. They joined us. Then my brother stopped and stood up, saying. " Now let's get serious guys." That's when it dawned on me and my parents that we were still down here in a canyon, hopeless. I frowned. " Way to ruin the good moods Joey!" I heard my mom whisper to my dad, "Aww! It's a good thing that they can find some light in our situation." " yeah.." my dad murmured back.
