The bell rang signalling that all students should be in their first period class. However, Hailey thought otherwise. She sneaked out at the back of the building to smoke in the football field. She pulled her lighter and cigarette out. She lit it on and took a long drag before exhaling the smoke.
She closed her eyes as she enjoyed the silence. She personally enjoyed the silence because growing up in new york didn't give her much of that. She loved the city but, silence was good every once in a while. She was relaxing and enjoying until she heard a loud whistle.
She abruptly opened her eyes and saw the coach of the football team across the field, calling all his players. She cursed loudly and threw her cigarette on the ground before stepping on it. She grabbed her bag and hoped that none of the people across the field saw her leave.
She successfully made it inside without getting caught but, luck doesn't seem to be on her side. Of all the people she could bumped into, she just had to bumped into the principal.
"Tsk. Tsk. Ms. Smith, cutting class again? That's your third offense this week!" The principal, Mr. Rivera, scolded.
Hailey rolled her eyes, as if it was nothing new to her.
"Do you want me to call your parents?" Mr. Rivera, threatened.
Hailey simply shrugged. She would have retorted something back but she didn't. She was afraid that the principal would smell and know that she just smoked and it would just add up to her records.
Mr. Rivera sighed frustratingly at the girl.
"Detention for one hour after school! If you still won't come to this detention, I'll have you suspended!" He reprimanded.
