Jace had just transferred to Xavier High and he absolutely loathed it. He didn't like the fact that his parents forced him to move to New York without his consent. He was contented living in a small secluded town but his parents felt the need to move in the city that never sleeps.

It was now time for fourth period and Jace had Maths. He mentally groaned as he remembered what he had for fourth period. He hated Math with a passion. He thought that the subject wouldn't help him in life.

He arrived early and took the seat far back near the window. Jace likes to look outside as his past time and listen to his music rather than try hard not to shoot himself while listening to their boring Math teacher. He plugged his headphones in and literally blocked the world around him.

Even though Jace was a new student, there was no denying that he was attractive. Many girls had their eyes on him and yet he doesn't seem to care. This wasn't a new thing though. Back in his old town, girls would throw theirselves at him and he would just brush them off.

Many people had thought that he was playing for the other team but, that wasn't the case. He just preferred being left alone.

Some of the students have arrived and Jace didn't give them a single glance at all. He turned his music volume up and bobbed his head up and down to Mayday Parade.

Their teacher, Mr. Perry, scanned the whole class and noticed that Jace was at his own little world.

"Settle down!" He said, trying to get the attention of the class. A few minutes of scolding later, he finally got the attention of the class except for Jace.

"Young man! Put that thing away!" He yelled across the room for Jace to hear but, he didn't heard him due to his music volume.

Someone beside Jace roughly nudged him to get his attention and he reluctantly pulled out his earphones. He noticed that the whole class was staring at him; awaiting for his response.

"What?" he asked in an obvious annoyed manner.

"Did you hear what I just said?" the teacher said with an irritated expression.

"No. I literally just removed my earphones. What makes you think I heard you?"

The class chuckled at his smartass response and Mr. Perry got furious instantly.

"Who do you think you are?"

"Jace. Not pleasant to meet you." he answered back while rolling his eyes at him.

"That's it! Detention after school!" Mr. Perry yelled.

"What the hell?" Jace said in disbelief.

"If you don't want a week of detention I suggest you shut it!"

Jace grumbled a few swear words in his seat and crossed his arms defeatedly.
