Chapter 10
Mike POV

I could feel the anger rolling through the link is strong waves. Well, it shouldn't matter anyways. I was going to get the Alpha position. No matter what. I had to trick the Lycan pack into helping me as well. The meeting had ended over an hour ago, the alpha said I could stay for a while longer after I told them that a disorderly female pack member declared she was the alpha and attempted to kill me multiple times. They believed it too, and with them on my side I was surely to win the grand spot of being alpha within two months if I planned well enough to outsmart Miranda. Settling down in the guest bedroom I instantly sat on the bed, my elbows on my knees and my chin on my interlaced fingers as I started plotting her downfall.

Layla POV

I looked at Grant as we sat on our bed. I asked, "who is the Alpha of the pack?"

"Some say its a beautiful young woman who has no mate and is very intelligent and strong." Grant said, "but no one has ever met the actual alpha of the pack, at least until now."

Chase walked through the door Brittany following. Chase immediately said, "he couldn't have been the alpha."

"What makes you say that?" Grant asked.

"How he talked, how he held himself, my wolf could sense he's in a higher position but not Alpha position." Chase said.

     "So then-"

"We were sent a fake alpha. And he said that it was his pack." Brittany cut Grant off before realizing it, "sorry!"

"Its fine. But then that means that the actual Alpha is probably pissed of at him." Grant stated.

"I really want to see the actual Alpha of this pack." Chase puffed running his fingers through his hair.

"Give it time and the Alpha may come after him." I said, "at least that's what I would do."

"Well were talking about a Alpha who definitely knows how to cover up their tracks. They will probably kill him some other way then just appearing and killing him." Chase said.

"They have to slip up sometime." Brittany said.

"Then the council will get involved. We really don't want that happening." Chase said rubbing his jaw. "We need someone they'd never suspect to go over and try forming a deal with the actual Alpha."

"If this person is as good as all of you say, that won't work." I said.

"A human." Chase said turning to me, "they wouldn't ever expect a human to be trying t-"

"No." Grant hugged me closer, "we will not thrust my mate into their arms and let them be able to catch her and kill her easily."

"Why are you all even trying to contact this mysterious Alpha anyways?" Gerard asked from the open doorway. Marcus was standing behind the teenager.

"We're you just eavesdropping on us?" Chase asked his voice tinged with irritation.

"It's really not that hard to hear you from next door," Gerard said, "but why do you want to see this Alpha?"

"Because, we can't negotiate an alliance with the Beta of the pack," Chase said.

"Why not?" Gerard raised an eyebrow to accompany this question.

"Because that's just not how it works." Chase narrowed his eyes at Gerard.

"Then can you discuss the alliance with one of her business partners right?" Gerard asked.

"You know the actual Alpha?" Chase asked.

"I got lucky to meet my mate one night. But not that lucky when she rejected me." Gerard said his eyes flashing with slight pain, "every once in a while she'll call or check up. So I guess it's okay."

So, I couldn't update because Wattpad wanted me to "Verify my Email" and at first it wasn't working too well. I really hope this is a good story so far.

This isn't confusing, right?
