Chapter 11~ The Call

Chapter 11
Gerard POV

        Layla, Grant, Brittany, and Chase started bombarding me with questions. I tried answering them the best I could, but it helps when you actually know your mate. Brittany was asking, "what does she look like?"

        I opened my mouth to answer when the phone rang. Chase picked it up, "hello?... okay."

        He pulled the phone away from his ear and looked at me holding the phone towards me he said, "its for you."

        I grabbed the phone putting it to my ear and heard the angelic voice on the other end say, "Gerard."

        "Miranda." I smiled, "its been so long."

        She sighed and said, "I know, and I apologize, but I've been too busy. I was just about to send a group out to find you and Marcus. But I've also been busy taking over other packs... Anyways, I have something to talk to you and the two future alphas and betas about. Put me on speaker please."

        I set the phone on speaker, saying, "you're on speaker."

        "Thank you, Gerard. Now, Brittany, Chase, I'm sure you're well aware of my beta acting as the alpha of my pack, right?"

        "Yeah," Chase said rubbing his jaw as he stared at the phone in my hand.

        "I have a deal for you. If you get Mike to the pack boundary by midnight, I won't inflitrate your territory with my whole pack at my back, and it won't turn into a complete slaughterhouse." Miranda's voice held an edge to it.

        "I'll have to talk to my parents about it and then find out how to get him there, there is no way for me to be able to get him there by midnight." Chase said.

        "Don't talk with your parents about it, then you can knock Mike out and drag him to the border. That would take only about forty minutes judging on how close your packhouse is to the border. Trust me Chase, I don't want to attack your pack, but if I have to that's how it will be."

        "What are you going to do to him?" Grant questioned.

        "Give him a chance to submit. If he refuses to submit I'll kill him. Easy enough." Miranda's voice held no regret whatsoever, "its your choice. All I know is if he isn't there by midnight, you better fortify your pack well."

        And with that. She hung up. Everyone stared at me as I set the phone down. I sat on the bed, Marcus climbed onto the bed beside me. Brittany spoke up after a few minutes, "well she's very friendly."

        I shrugged, "we should go with knocking him out and getting him to the border."

        "No. I will speak with my parents about this, I will not go along with that plan without talking with them first." Chase said turning to leave.

        "You're putting your pack at risk Chase. She can kill off your whole pack and not leave anything that leads back to her." I snapped.

        "I'll take the risk. After all, we have her mate. She wouldn't let anything harm you especially if she rejected you." Chase said.

        "Chase, think about it, its one man or a whole pack. Which one would you rather live?" I was starting to plead. I didn't want this pack in ruins.

        "I'd like to talk with my parents for a few minutes on what we should do Gerard. A few minutes won't kill us." Chase said finally leaving the room. I looked at Brittany.

        "You have to make him give Mike over." I pleaded.

        "I'll go speak with him and his parents, but I can't promise anything." Brittany sighed leaving the room to follow Chase.
