(Song for the chapter is Airplanes by B.O.B)
The morning sun was shining in
through Richie's windows. Richie didn't care though, all he cared about was Eddie. What was Eddie doing? Was he crying. Richie wanted nothing more to hold him and apologize.God he's such a idiot. Why would he say that? Why would he use that word? He knew how much meaning that word was too Eddie. Eddie was right, he really is no better then Henry Bowers. The fact that he used that word was not even the worst part. He straight up lied to Eddie. The truth is Richie liked Eddie. He liked him a lot. But as much as Richie likes Eddie, he can't date him. He can't be even more of a outcast. But god he likes him.
Suddenly Ben belly flops onto the bed as the rest of the losers follow in. "Good morning Richie" Bev said with a smile. Richie stopped and thought. Was he even attracted to Bev? I mean sure she's with Bill but all the other boys were attracted to her. To Richie she was just pretty, but he couldn't imagine kissing her. It just didn't feel right. Was that because she's like a sister or because he does not like girls?
"Morning fuckers." Richie said with a fake smile.
"Where's Eddie?" Mike asked. Fuck. He should of thought this threw.
"He's uhh. His mom was worried about him and made him go home as soon as the sun came up." Richie lied.
"God his moms psycho." Stan said as the losers laughed.
"So uh. My parents are gonna be back at 9." Richie said as the losers nodded. "It's 8:45." The losers nodded again. "So like... that's 15 minutes."
"Oh wow Richie, I get it you want us to go." Bev said with a hurt look on her face.
"No, that's not it." Richie stated.
"You know if you wanted us gone that bad, you could of just asked." Ben said.
"No guys that's not" Richie started.
"Oh my g-gosh were just f-f-fucking with you." Bill stuttered.
"Oh." Richie laughed.
The losers packed up their things and biked home leaving Richie and his thoughts to himself. He had to fix things with Eddie. Eddies his best friend. He got a pencil and a piece of paper and began.
Dear Eddie,
You are right. I'm no better then Henry Bowers. I can't believe myself. I can't believe I would call you that. I'm as mad at myself as you are. I'm so sorry Eds. You're my best friend and I can't lose you. I love you no matter what. I'm so sorry and I hope we'll be okay.
Richie.-
Eddie walked up his steps. He never went home, he went to the Barrens to clear his head. If his mom thought that, she would kill him but she thought he was still at Richie's. Richie. He can't believe what Richie said. Not only that but...he thought Richie really liked him. I mean Richie kissed him.
He opens the door, goes up the stairs, and opens his room door planning on sleeping the rest of the day. As he's crawling into bed, he sees a paper airplane sitting on his desk in front of his window. He already knows it's from Richie. He reads the later, then tears it apart and puts it in the trash. Richie's as mad as me? Eddie thinks. Doubtful.
The next couple days more notes fly into Eddies window. He doesn't read them.
School starts. He sees the losers lunch table. He doesn't sit with them. At the end of the day he sees Richie starting to walk towards him. He wants to talk to him so bad, he misses him so much. He's not even mad at him for calling him that word. Eddie just can't be friends with him. It's too painful knowing the guy he likes doesn't like him back. He gets on his bike and rides away before Richie can follow him.

Richie sits at the lunch table pushing around his mystery meat. It's been two days and Eddie has not sat with us. "R-Richie? What's going on? Why is Eddie n-not talking to us anymore?" Bill stuttered. Richie was so not looking forward to telling the group, but he knew he had too.
"Yeah. You were the last one whose seen him." Bev added.
"So uhhh. Me and Eddie got in the fight, the night of the sleepover. Were no longer friends."
"What? I don't understand what happened? You guys are best friends!" Ben said disappointed.
"I...I called him something bad, and he's mad at me. I've tried apologizing but he doesn't forgive me. I don't expect him too."
"Well what did you call him?" Stan asked.
Richie started down at his food disappointed in himself. "I... I called him the F word"
"A fuck? A fucker? I don't understand." Bev said. "How's that so bad?"
"No. I called him the other F word." Richie said as he watched the realization of his words come across the gangs face.
"Come on man! What's wrong with you?" Mike said angrily.
"I...it just slipped out!"
"Sure. It always does." Mike said as he got up from the table and went to sit with Eddie at his lonely table.
"Mike! Come back!" Richie yelled.
"Dude. The F word is like the N words brother" Stan said.
"I know...I fucked up."
"That's a understatement" Ben said looking angry. Ben got up and sat with Eddie and Mike.
-
Eddie was eating his pizza lunchable alone when he saw Mike get up from the losers table and walks towards him. "Hey bud." Mike said as he sat down across from him. "Richie told us what happened." No. No. Everyone was gonna know now! Eddie started to imagine himself disappearing but it didn't help cause he was still there. "I can't believe Richie would call you that. I'm sorry."
"Yeah. It does suck. Is that all Richie told you?" Eddie questioned.
"Yeah. Why did something else happen?"
"No. Just wanted to make sure he didn't lie or anything" Eddie said as he awkwardly laughed.
"I've been called hurtful names my whole life, especially in this town. I just didn't expect someone like Richie to say those words to you." Mike explained.
"Me either." Eddie sighed. Suddenly Ben sat down next to Mike.
"I didn't want to be there anymore." Ben said. "I've been called hurtful names too, so I get it Eddie."
"Well I guess it's just us." Mike said.
"The three musketeers who have been called hurtful names." Ben said with a smile.
Eddie smiled too. Eddie thought he would be alone the next 5 years till he graduated, but things were already looking up.
