Eddie stared at the frozen water. The gang were ice skating earlier, but everyone left, but him and Richie. They started in silence. They do this a lot, but it was different this time. This was not a comfortable silence, there was tension.

Richie sighed. "Eddie?"

"Yeah?"

"I have something to tell you."

Eddie looked at Richie scared. "Yeah?"

"I..I I'm gay."

Eddie of course, already knew this, so he did his best surprised act. "Oh wow, I had no idea!"

"What?"

"What?"

"Why are you acting like that?"

"Like what?" Eddie said with an awkward laugh at the end. Richie stared at him confused. "Okay...I kind of already know."

"Wait! Is that gaydar thing real? Could you tell?"

"No Richie...you, you told me."

"What?"

Eddie sighed. "On Halloween....you, you were drunk and you told me."

"Oh...is that all that happened?"

"You also kissed me." Eddie murmured so quietly that Richie could not hear him.

"What?"

"You kissed me." He mumbled again.

"Speak up Eddie Spaghetti!"

"You kissed me! ...you kissed me Richie."

"...I did? Wow. I thought that was a dream." Richie said shocked. The two sat together in silence for a minute.

"Richie?"

"Yeah?"

"Why are you still with Amanda?"

"I - I don't want people to know I'm gay."

"Richie, it's really not that bad. It's better to be out and free."

"No it's not Eds. Don't lie to yourself. You get harassed by Bowers and everyone else every day."

Eddie sat for a second. "That. That is true." Eddie said with a giggle.

"Seriously. Eddie. You are the strongest person I know. You are unapologetic you."

"You can be unapologetic you too!" Eddie said moving his hands suddenly too grasp Richie's face.

"I'm scared Eds." Richie said looking at a Eddies lips.

"Don't call me Eds." Eddie said before slamming his lips on to Richie's. This kiss was better then the one Halloween. It was more passionate. There was more fear, but in a good way. It was better sober. They pulled apart and smiled at each other before going back in. Richie suddenly took control and grabbed Eddies waist. He pulled him deeper into the kiss.

"Eddie." Richie said pulling away.

"Yeah?" He said confused.

"I love you Eddie. I've loved you since the 7th grade. I was too scared to admit it. I'm still scared. I'm so fucking scared Eddie, but I don't care anymore, because I love you." Richie said letting out a breath.

"I love you too Richie." Eddie said with the biggest smile. The two pulled away and Richie laid down onto the grass. Eddie rested his head on Richie's chest.

"You want to know when I knew I fell in love with you?" Richie asked.

"When." Eddie said with a smile.

"We were in that crack house, the summer we fought IT. We lost you, Bill and I. We ran into the kitchen. You were on the ground, with your arm bent. IT was standing over you. I thought you were going to die. It was the scariest moment of my life. Knowing you would die. My best friend. Then I realize it was because you weren't my best friend, you were so much more then that. You were my light, what made me happy and get up in the morning. Losing you was the most terrifying thought. And then I was dumb, and I did lose you."

"You have me now." Eddie said turning over. The two smiled at each other.

After an hour of talking, Richie stood up. "I have something to do."

Eddie looked up confused. "What?"

"I have to go break up with Amanda." Eddie smiled. "Do you wanna come?" Richie said with a smirk.

"Do I?" Eddie said getting up.

The two got on their bikes and rode down to the Derry Pizzeria, where Amanda was.

The two walked through the door and went to the table where Amanda, Beverly, and their girlfriends Heather and Jennifer sat.

"Oh hey baby." Amanda turned and said with a smile.

"Hey, Amanda I have something to tell you."

"Oh and what is that?" Amanda said with a smile and looked around the table. Her friend heather mouth something along the lines of "winter dance". Thinking that's what Richie was going to ask.

"Amanda. I'm breaking up with you."

"What...why?" She said looking shocked.

"Why? Ummm because I'm fucking gay!" Richie yelled too the restaurant.

"Hahaha I knew it!" Beverly said standing up.

"Okay, Amanda you were lovely but my boyfriend and I are going to go." Richie said and wrapped his arm around Eddies waist. Eddie smiled looking up at him. "Let's go. Bev you coming?"

"Yes!" The three of them walked out of the restaurant together. "Thank god you broke up with her! I hated her!"

"You did?" Eddie said with a laugh.

"Yes! I just hung out with her to be a nice person."

"Beverly? A nice person?" Richie said laughing.

"Shut up four eyes. God I can't wait too tell the boys! I'm so exited!" Bev said.

Eddie and Richie looked at each other and smiled, excited and ready to finally be free.
