Alex is sitting on the couch with a laptop watching Police Chases as she hears a scream. She flings the laptop up into the air as the screeching noise startles her. The laptop has broken into two pieces. Alex attempts to find a place to hide the shattered device, lifting the cushions and checking in the cabinets. Eventually, she just brushes it under the couch with her foot before walking up the stairs.
"Harper," Alex starts, "why are you yelling? I was trying to watch idiot drivers trying to escape the police."
Harper is bursting with excitement, "Even better than watching people make fools of themselves online. It's that time again!"
Alex makes a pouting face, "Harper, don't make me play guessing games. Just tell me."
"Tomorrow is the Crazy 10-Minute Sale!" Harper yells as Alex joins in.
"Oh my god, the Crazy 10 Minute Sale? I haven't been to one in.... Years!" Alex says, "And I'm finally not grounded!"
Harper and Alex cheer, but at that moment, a voice is heard upstairs.
"ALEX, GET DOWN HERE!" The voice appears to be Theresa.
"Oh no." Alex says as she and Harper stop cheering.
Alex makes her slow walk downstairs, even stopping midway to sit down before getting up and continuing. Eventually, she makes it to the couch and crashes as Theresa stands staring.
"Alex, what is that hanging out from under the couch?" Theresa asks.
"One of Max's moldy..... Bread slices?" Alex insists.
"Alex, I'm not blind. I can see the plastic and metal. Is that your laptop?" Theresa demands an answer.
Alex pushes it more under the couch. "No."
"Mija. When are you going to grow up? It's about time to act your age. And until you do, you're grounded." Theresa says, giving hints of attitude before walking off.
"Well that's just great." Alex says sarcastically to herself.
Downstairs in the shop, Max is washing tables. Mason walks in through the front doors as Max calls to him, "MASON! There's my werewolf!"
Everyone in the shop looks at the two as Mason rushes Max away. Mason turns back to the people and calls out, "In a play!" Before scurrying away.
"What?" Max questions it.
"You can't announce to the public that I am a were wolf," Mason tells him.
"Oh.. Yeah. Forgot." Max stumblingly says.
Mason takes a quick breather and asks, "Where's Alex?"
"Upstairs watching Police Chases." Max says before Mason thanks him and runs up the stairs.
Mason greets Alex in the living room with a quick kiss on the cheek and a brief, "Hello love."
Alex gives him an odd look before spitting out, "What's with the good mood?"
"Can't I just be in a good mood?" Mason says before laughing.
"Well, I'm grounded." Alex blatantly says before sitting back down on the couch and grabbing at the air before realizing the laptop was broke. "Unless--"
"Unless what?" Mason interrupts.
"Unless I fix this." Alex pulls out her wand and aims it at the laptop. The wand flashes and the laptop instantaneously fixes. Alex then calls for Theresa, "MOM!"
Theresa walks up the stairs and looks at the laptop, "Oh, so it wasn't broke? My apologies. It's just been a stressful- wait a minute. That's your wand. Alex, you can't rely on magic forever. You may have it for a lifetime, but you can't be lazy. Take some responsibility for your actions for once."
