Twined With You - Epilogue

Cold of the air that gushed in from the window brushed my bare hands. It caressed my bare hands softly as ray of lights whisper the arrival of the sun. My eyes refuse to open and my legs curled to fight the chill. I pulled the blanket to cover the long legs and bare shoulders. The warmth of the blanket soothes me as I lose myself to the depth of sleep. The edges of my lips were lifted lightly and I snuggle myself to the engulfing pillow. As I move my face, I could feel the coldness of the untouched sheet that have not taste the warmth of my alive self.  

Warm and moist flesh touched my bare shoulder as a smaller part of it caressed it slowly. It moved slower and lower to the waist of mine. Without any doubt, it rested there. After feeling the warmth of it, it pulled me backwards to meet the warm body that has slept with me for hours. I could feel gush of breath in my neck as he slowly put his face in between my head and shoulder. It buried itself and tried to fill his lung with the scent of mine. As if my scent is the air his existence needed.  

"Good morning..." The whisper tickled my ear softly as I let go a smile. Slowly, my hand caught his hand on my waist. I trailed it back to the end of it and turned my body to feel the soft hair that shone because of the ray that slipped from the curtain. His eyes were still closed but he knew my eyes were set on him. As I put his hand back to where it was, he pulled me closer to the point that his warm skin is next to mine. I tangled my cold feet with his ever warm feet. My arm lingered to his neck as I pulled him closer to me. His breath tickled my neck again as he welcomed my embrace with a stronger one.  

"I don't want to wake up..." I softly whispered to his ear. My fingers stroked his brown hair and a few strands that stood up. His finger trailed inside the thin camisole and found my spine. It never failed to send tingling sensation although it has been done for a million times.  

"Hmmm... I don't mind." He said as he pulled me even closer than this. I started to feel very warm as our legs tingled and he buried his face on my neck again. His lips started to trail my skin and slowly kissed it. He wished to leave a mark of possession but he knew better that the woman he is with is the woman who has given her heart and soul to him. This alone gave him the courage to pull her and tighten the arms that lingered her small figure.  

Their breaths became heavier and heavier. Warmth oozed from every point of their body that touched. They found themselves trying to find each other again. They were wanting more and more as if the thirst was a never ending one.  

"Mommy... I'm hungry."  

The two bodies that wrestled out of passion froze. Different warmth crept to their mind as they saw the small human with a teddy bear in her hand stood by their door. Her eyes shone as if nothing she saw has tainted them. It blinked once and twice and waited for an answer.  

A pair of topaz eyes looked at me and smiled with the full lips. "No regrets, Spence. That was the best alarm." He leaned for a kiss on my forehead then pulled away the blanket that covered him. With a swing, he scooped the little girl off the floor. The little girl chuckled as her tummy tickled from the swing. "Let's get you fed, Lily." 

I threw my back to the bad as I looked at the white ceiling. I let go a long breath. As I turned my head to the edge of the bad, a woman and a man greeted me with the brightest smile in their best wedding dress and suit. Her hand rested on his chest comfortably and his arm lingered on her waist protectively. I smiled as the familiar warm crept from my chest. Rustles were heard from the kitchen downstairs. I pulled away the warm blanket and stood on my feet. The stairs carpet was still a bit cold but the end of it was bright. Someone must have opened the windows. 

"So, my Lily, what do you want to eat?" Lily chuckled again as the man she called Daddy made a funny face. She threw her head to burst out laughter.  

After she let go all laughter, she answered. "I want shhhiihreyal..." 

"No, Lily. You just ate cereal yesterday, it's not good to have it every day. Mommy will make you bread and jam, okay?" I walked past her and stroked her head. I stopped by the man across the kitchen counter and gave him a kiss on his lips. "Good morning, Sean." He replied with a smile and winked at Lily. She covered her eyes and said 'uh-oh'. I took the bread and a jam from the other counter. Sean took the bread knife and plate for me. As I spread jam on the bread, his arm lingered again around my waist.  

"Do you want more jam, Lily?" Sean dipped his finger to the jam and offered it to Lily. Lily shrieked 'eew' and covered her face with Teddy. Sean laughed and slid his finger to his mouth. I laughed at my little family's silliness. 

"Sean! We need to go!" Three silhouettes appeared in front of our door. Sean put the bread's plate in front of Lily and rushed to the door. I went to the back and took a jacket from the laundry pile to cover myself. Zac, Amon and Garrett came in and went right to the kitchen. They stroke Lily's head in turns and sat by her.  

"How are you today, pretty?" Zac wiped off the bread crumble on Lily's cheek.  

Lily still focused on eating her bread. She answered without moving her glance. "I'm fine, how about you?" 

Zac could not resist the urge to pinch Lily's munching cheek. "I am fine too, still waiting for the time where I will feel that you are my mate." 

"That's the time of your death." Sean appeared with his shorts on and jacket in his hand. He took the bread I made for him and munched it fast.  

"Well, if Zac can't, I am still waiting for you, Lily." Amon laughed and mess Lily's hair.  

I pulled the bread knife up. "Then I will kill you." 

Everyone except Amon burst into laughter or smile. Lily looked around and stopped at Garrett. "Lily likes Garrett." The room fell into silence as Lily continued to eat. All eyes were on Garrett who did not even provoke it to happen.  

"Li... Lily said it..." He stuttered.  

"Where are you going today, dear?" I rested both of hand on Sean's chest. He put down the juice that he drank on the counter top. I wiped some of the juice on the corner of his lips.  

He bent down and kissed the tip of my nose. "A pact seemed to have form just outside the city. We need to meet its alpha and get to know about it. It should not be long. I will be back for dinner." 

"Then I will be at my parents'. Pick me up after?"  

Sean nodded as he finished his juice. "We better get going now then." Everyone got up and bid their good bye to Lily. Zac managed to steal a kiss from Lily and a slap on his head from Sean. They all rushed to the doorway. Even after the door was closed, their chatter was still audible.  

I looked at Lily who was busy with her sticky fingers. "So... It's just me and you today, Lils." 

The door was suddenly opened and Sean rushed in alone. He looked at my face anxiously. I was wondering what could be wrong but he pulled me by my hips as kissed me long and deep. It was fast but it still left warmth nevertheless. "I forgot this and I forgot to tell you something." 

"What?" 

"I love you." He smiled and gave Lily and I a peck. Only after, he went outside and their voice was slowly fading.  

I could not help but smile. Even after so many years, even after our love has manifested into a lovely creature in front of me, he still remembers to say that to me. I knew he would change form soon. This way, he could run the miles and hear me too. I closed my eyes and whispered. "Be safe and I love you too." 

"I will."
