RECAP

My eyes are looking straight in the act of regaining my own logic thought; this is the time where the savior comes and safe the sinner.

"We can't do this. I can't do this." I told Jace as I stand up and he holds my wrist.

"Is it because of the new boy?" The eyes show seriousness yet anger and sadness.

My chest goes upward and downward as I inhale then exhale, "Yeah. Say hi to my fiancé." The limp me starts to make way out of the room leaving the startled quarterback alone.

What the heck? That is exactly the thing that I am sure appears in my and his head.

Spencer's POV

Excruciating. That's the right word that can explain the agony I have right now - the blend of my stupidity and wound. How can I be that dumb?

I have cheated on Sean. Gosh.

'He must had been making out with Jessica back then!' My left ear caught a devilish and sly whisper. Well yeah, he did has a thing, a serious one, with Jess. And he made out with her already. That made sense. So we are even. What a relief to the guilt.

'First with Amon. Now, with Jace. Sean and Jess did it in the past, you and Jace did that in the past and just now.' The other ear herad an invisible sharp statement.

I have no more right to be mad or just judge him. What I did just now made me worse than him. It has been the second betrayal. And this is not involuntary betrayal like the first one, yet it is one voluntary action. Impossible that Sean is going to forgive me EVER.

"Oops! Spence! Watch it!" Jess shouts spontaneously and eyes the cheesecake to make sure that it's okay, "You know what will Joon do to you if this is ruined, right?"

She's trying to make a joke, so I show her my simple pathetic smile. Honestly, I hide my feelings and the problem from her. She can't and mustn't know about this. Yes, I forgive her already and they are over, but when she looked at Sean, there's something in the way she looked at him. Something that is like a longing and loving sight and it convinces me that she'll get Sean back as soon as I release him from my hand and heart.

"Spence... Spence..." She calls my name repeatedly and would wave her hand in front of my face if she doesn't carry the cheesecakes with btoh of her hand.

I snap the thought out of me and make a point, "Jess, I need to go now. Please tell Joon I will walk home."

Her face shows concern and worry, "Why? You just got here! You haven't try the cheesecake plus you can't walk home with that foot."

Come on! I just want to flee from here! Just before Jace stepped out of his room! Please! I wish I can just shout that as an answer!

"I... I... I need to help my Mom prepares dinner." I blurt the excuse out loud at the end.

Jessica hasn't get the excuse, "It's like 3.45pm, you have dinner like around 6 and probably preparing for it now is too early. Don't you think so?"

GOD!

What should i say? Sweat comes out from my pores fading off the color in my face. My brain is storming for an excuse. What should I say? I hope this works, "We're going to pick up some groceries at the supermarket. She just...emmm... texted me! And you do know how I like doing groceries so much, right?" I try to turn the awkward and anxious situation with a friendly and understanding one.
