The Alien: Book 1

Chapter 4: Takeoff

When they were in front of Iliana's cottage they saw Markus Hall sitting in front of her door with a rose in his hand, and looking sad; "Hey Markus, can you move we're trying to go inside?" says Iliana. "You know this rose was supposed to be for you." Markus says sadly. "What?" says Iliana? "I was supposed to ask you out yesterday but I was too scared." says Markus. Iliana had no words to say, she was just baffled. "I was devastated after you two got married. I know about his secret." Markus says with a smirk on his face. "What secret?" says Iliana? "Don't act like you don't know. He's an alien and that was him that crashed on the mountain." says Markus. Argus pulls Iliana to the side; "We have to eliminate him. He knows." says Argus. "No he's innocent." says Iliana. "No I'm not." says Markus. "What do you mean?" says Iliana. "You'll see." says Markus. Markus started walking away; he threw the rose behind his back not looking were it landed. It landed at Argus's feet. Iliana and Argus were very confused but they just went inside. After checking everything to make sure everything was still there they sat down to go to bed. Argus was very worried at the words Markus said. He sat up because he couldn't fall asleep; "Come to bed." says Iliana. "I can't, I don't think were safe. What if Markus told everyone what he saw?" Argus says with concern. "I don't think he would do that to me, you heard him he's obsessed with me." says Iliana. "Your right, he might not tell." says Argus. Argus lay down with Iliana and they fell asleep. Soon after they fell asleep, Iliana woke up to Argus yelling. "Iliana get up!" says Argus. "What? Why?" Iliana says sleepily. "Let's go the house is on fire!!" says Argus. Iliana hopped out of bed and headed for the front door. She tried to open it but Argus warned her that the door was bolted from the front. Argus headed out the back door but not realizing Iliana was left inside. He turned back and saw her inside. She was trapped by a huge beam in front of her and she couldn't get passed. While Argus scanned the room to see what he can do to get her out Iliana passed out. Argus knew she didn't have that long until the house collapsed on her. He tried to reach for her hand but the fire was too high. Argus knew he had no choice but to use his special abilities. He stood back and clapped his hands so hard the fire blew out instantly, and the whole town shook like an earthquake. The sound of the clap was as loud as the breaking of the sound barrier. Argus jumped over the charred beam and grabbed Iliana in his hands. The mob came around to the back of the house to see what was going on and they saw Iliana in his hands. They thought she was dead and they felt guilty. "Look at what you've done!" Argus yells. "We only meant to scare ya'll out of here." says a villager. "Yeah we never meant to hurt you." says another villager. "Where's Markus?!" says Argus. The crowd moved out of the way exposing Markus; "You shall fall." Argus says angrily. He then gets up and rushes towards Markus full speed. He picks up Markus by the throat and slams him on the ground. Markus gets up and punches Argus in the face and the stomach. Markus goes for another blow but Argus grabs his hand and snaps it. As Markus falls on the ground and lays there in pain Argus goes for a final blow. Iliana wakes up and sees the fight; "Argus stop! Don't hurt him!" says Iliana. "Why? You humans are too soft! Where I'm from he would have been killed and fed to the royal wolvians." says Argus. "Wolvians?" says Iliana. "They're royal guards." says Argus. "Okay, you said on Pandrax he would have been killed but this is not Pandrax, this is Earth. On Earth we do things differently." says Iliana. Argus let go and walked toward Iliana. They turned around and looked back at the villagers; "I'm never coming back." says Iliana who is tearful. "We know." says Sheriff Loangood. Goodbye Iliana and good luck. Argus picked up Iliana and ran at superhuman speed to the top of the mountain. When they got up there Iliana jumped down; "Never do that again." Iliana says with a pale face. Argus chuckled. When they got in the ship they found it fully charged. Argus turned the ship on and they flew off as the villagers watched. The sun was coming up as Iliana watched as they passed the clouds. When they exited the Earth's atmosphere she got excited as she saw billions of stars. Her eyes grew huge as she saw Earth which looked huge. "Where to first?" says happy Iliana. "Mercury, I have business with the Rock People." says Argus.
