I exited the bus with new found excitement, today my life was changing and not in a small way. I'm originally from a small town on the outskirts of Jacksonville, FL. About a month ago I decided to leave my quiet little life and move to the Big, bustling city of New York. It was an exciting change but also a scary one. I was moving in with my long time best friend and her boyfriend, they had so graciously offered me a place to stay. how could I say no,I mean come on it wasn't every day you got the chance to move to New York. It had always been my dream to work for a big time magazine producer. I had went to school for digital media and got a masters but I could never find A suitable place for my talents. What can I say there wasn't much work in my small town for digital media, The closest thing we had was the town newspaper. While I was lost in thought I ended up bumping into someone. I said a quick excuse me and looked up to meet the eyes of the person I bumped into, I froze. He was tall, with almost jet black hair and piercing blue eyes. He had small bags under his eyes which hinted at the fact that he hadn't slept in a while, for a moment I couldn't find my voice. We stared into each other's eyes for what felt like an eternity but it was only a brief moment, not a word was spoken. Until his silky voice met my ears, laced with an accent I couldn't quite place. I Felt a shiver run down my back, "i'm sorry miss I didn't mean to bump into you, you must be new I haven't seen around here." I stared up at him for a moment before replying"oh yes I am new, hello it's nice to meet you I'm,Bella Lowell." He gave me a warm smile before saying his name quickly then leaving soon after,"ah yes , it's nice to meet you Ms. Lowell  I'm, Axel Tremblay I hope we can meet again but I have to go, good day." It took me a few minutes to get out of the haze I was in, But once I did I made my way to the elevators. My excitement was bubbling once again "what floor miss" A kind old woman asked, she reminded me a lot of my grandmother. "Seventh floor please" once we had reached my floor I stepped out and waved bye to the kind old lady, I then made my way to room 210. I gave a loud knock on the door and was immediately greeted by my best friend ,Anna lee, "you finally made it" she greeted with a cheesy smile. "You bet where's Levi" I asked knowing her idiot of a boyfriend had to be around somewhere. Now don't get me wrong Levi and I were good friends from school , but he was kind of how do I say this A dope She giggled and told me he had went out for some milk. Before I knew it was happening Anna had pulled me into her apartment, and was already showing me to my room "i'm sure you're exhausted from your long trip, why don't you take a nap" she suggested. "Sounds great" , I gave her one last smile as I  entered my room. I set my stuff down and decided to give my room a good look. I had a small desk, A queen size bed, and my own personal bathroom. Not to mention the window In my room has an amazing view of the city. What more could a girl ask for I thought and before I knew it I had already fallen asleep on my new bed. I groggily sat up in bed, looking over at the clock to see it was 5:30 am. I decided to go for an early morning walk, Before I knew it I found myself in the garden behind the apartment complex. As I walked around the garden it seemed as if every flower imaginable was blooming tonight, Fireflies illuminated the dark corners Creating a peaceful and romantic glow. Suddenly the sounds of two people arguing destroyed the blissful silence. I follow their sound and came across a couple. I couldn't quite make out their faces but the scene was quite clear, there on one knee, brokenhearted kneeled an unidentified man, his proposal had obviously gone wrong. The atmosphere was heavy as the man struggled to find the right words to say. "What do you mean no" his voice started to rise with anger, "you heard me I don't love you and I never will." my eyes widened at the scene before me I leaned in a little closer to hear what was going to be said next "so all those times you said you love me it was a lie, I don't understand I'm rich, and handsome what more could you want." The sun had started to rise so I could vaguely make out their faces, The woman was tall and beautiful with long chestnut brown hair. She had a circular face and oval eyes. In all she was the picture of beauty, I could understand why he was madly in love with her. I looked over at the man and froze it was Axel, The handsome man from the lobby. He suddenly stood up from his kneeling position and dusted himself off "fine then I won't stay here any longer trying to convince you to be my wife" he said in a tone I didn't recognize. What was it anger, disappointment or maybe both, but what I wasn't prepared for was when his eyes met mine. The emotion that filled them I knew what it was anger, pure rage. He greeted his teeth together as he spoke "what are you watching this for it's none of your business, do you find pleasure in my misery." I was taken back by his statement he had seemed so nice earlier, That's when it dawned on me he was nice earlier because he had expected his lover to except his proposal. He had been in a good mood but now, his true colors were showing. My voice came out shaky"n-no I just stumbled upon you I didn't mean to pry into your business" he gave a sarcastic laugh. "Then why are you still here" I couldn't answer, I was shocked why was I still here? "that's what I thought just another no good woman" and with that he was gone. My eyes blink rapidly as I frantically looked over at his now Ex-lover. She gave me a smirk and turned walking away. I was left standing there in the cold, shock written on my face.
