⚠ AMBER ALERT
Stonepeak, CO AMBER Alert: LIC/
78d1f80 (CO) 2015 Blue Honda CivicHe took a moment to register what he read. Garrett turned off his phone and drifted away.
...
The sound of his alarm left him crashing up out his bed and into his head board. The boy took a moment to calm down. He always felt like falling when he got up to fast. As his vision faded away and he braced himself on the wall.
Once he recovered he moved over to the mirror above his dresser. He looked at himself in the mirror, catching a glimpse of himself. He was a little bit overweight and pale for his ethnicity. He stood out like a sore thumb in his family. His hair was a dark brown and it was long, it stopped just at his ear. His eyes were a little far apart, and on of his nostrils was bigger than the other.
Garrett rubbed at his nose wishing to vanish or magically appear normal. With a disappointed feeling, he smiled and winked at himself in the mirror. His mood shifted. He dug through the dresser below looking for an outfit to wear for the day.
Digging around he pulled out a black shirt. On the front of it only the top of the chest and the shoulders held the pattern of lotus' on a pond. After it was in his hand he tugged on a pair of jeans and he grabbed some underwear.
Garrett dashed to the bathroom after grabbing his phone off the charger. Once inside he played his music and took a shower. Quickly he got dressed. He hated the way the shirt looked on him. When he bought it, a few months before he had been obese. The image of him was still of that size. It didn't matter how much he lost, he still felt like bigger than he really was.
He stared in the mirror for a moment. He wasn't pleased. The shirt was too big. His body had stretched it at the bottom so it puffed out giving the illusion of the once status quo.
Garrett left the bathroom without his signature blown kiss to himself in the morning.
...
He stepped into the kitchen in search of his bag. The room was dark. He walked over to the fridge and looked through it. Nothing to snack on. Not for him any way.
Even with his body begging for food, he turned away. Garrett headed for the living room where is bag sat on the left side of the couch. He grabbed it and headed to began to move for the front door.
Garrett turned around hesitant for a moment. He was met with a lonely silence. He opened the door and golden light flooded the room. Turning around he waited another moment.
Nothing.
Sadly he stepped out the door, shutting it behind him. Then he paced his way to the bus stop.
...
Garrett sat in the middle of the bus. He propped his head against the window as he was waiting for one of his friends.
A girl slipped beside him. He was towering her in the seat. She was Hispanic with long brown hair, and freckles covered her face. She had an apparent accent when she spoke. She carried herself with a calm happy go lucky demeanor.
