pink sunsets and the wind in his hair, those were the days matty healy hated the most. why? because they reminded him of her. the love of his life, his reason for even existing.

they had been together for years, even talked about getting married and having children. but it was all ruined, when she suddenly turned up sick, and no one knew what was wrong.

she fought, of course she did, and he was there with her the whole way. but she didn't make it, and it shattered him into a million pieces.

"matty, you gotta go out, mate. it's not healthy." george would always say to him, but he would ignore him and continue staring at the pictures he had of his beloved.

sometimes, matty swore she came to him in his dreams. he swore he could feel her touching his hand or her breath on his neck.

and every time he would ask, "why did you leave me?" as tears flooded down his cheeks.

"i didn't leave you, i'm always here, matty."

maybe matty had a reason to believe in angels now, because he had one.
