Subject: New Job

How's the new internal auditor doing? It's been a week and the team is missing you already, bro.

I envy you. Sometimes I think I should have resigned as early as you did. The times we are chillin' in this engagement are over. Hell has come for us. We barely sleep, for heaven's sake. In fact, early this morning, Sir Mark told the team, "Guys, we can do it. Have faith. I believe this will be done by the end of the day." God, only our team can tell that those words was just the nice way of saying, "Nobody gets to go home until we're done." Hell, that fella isn't even moving away from his desk to have a proper meal. All he's eaten were a bunch of coconut juices and chips. Well, you know Sir Mark. Deadlines are deadlines. Otherwise, we're dead.

Honestly, it pisses me off. The many plan changes implemented in the past weeks are now paying off. Miss Rose and Vivien already had their last day's yesterday. So that leaves just eight of us in the team and we have to make it until that damn factual findings report is written.

I bet you're having a good time. The transition to internal audit is probably not that hard. If you don't mind, could you give me a brief description of what you do? I'm largely considering internal audit as a change of career path.

Is there a huge cultural difference? Like, we are not used to leaving the office right at 6 o'clock. And they do. That is ought to make a huge difference, I guess.

Too long now. Just e-mailing cause I'm getting all sleepy here. Since the day you left there's no one I could really talk to. You know, them girls will always be girls and though I can get along with them, too, it's more often that I just don't... Yeah, you get the picture.

Anyway, hope your doing well, bro.

Best regards,
Brian Turner, CPA

Brian: Went home at 6AM, slept for a couple of hours, took a quick shower, then back in the office. Unfortunately, my shift starts at 9:30.

Eduard: Not to mention the OT from midnight to morning isn't paid.

Brian: I'm grateful I'm paid from 6PM to midnight. Better than nothing.

Eduard: Got your e-mail. When we meet again, I'll tell you a lot. Here's not a good means. You know, typing sucks.

Brian: Yeah. And Traffic sucks. Will there be a day that I won't be fuckin' late?

Eduard: Have you tried setting up a tent in the office? You basically live there anyways.

Brian: Bright idea. Now looking up for a tent on E-bay. Best to share it with Lourdes, right?

Eduard: Or Kim.

Brian: Naaah, I'm pretty sure I can multitask. They don't have to be mutually exclusive, right?

Eduard: Could be hard to juggle 4 coconut shells.

Brian: Lol. Haven't been training lately. I hope I still can.

Eduard: Rusty.

Brian: Just kidding.

Brian: Wew. Just got in the office. 10:21AM. Roughly an hour late.

Brian: Man, they are beasts. Fuckin' beasts. Everyone was in the conference room already except me. Some of them went home later than I did. HOOOOW????

Brian: Imma get to work now.

Subject: Tardiness

Body:

Greetings Mr. Turner,

This is just a gentle reminder that as per your exercise of free chosing of shift, the schedule selected was 9:30AM to 6:30PM. Please be reminded that as per company attendance policy, "Tardiness for more than 40% of the total regular time attended for every quarter shall be sanctioned by a week of unpaid suspension", and "Tardiness for more than 30% but not more than 40% of the total regular time attended for a quarter shall be sanctioned by a reprimand". The firm truly cares for the wellbeing of its employees. Accordingly, we advice that you approach your counsilor for guidance should you wish, in case there is something personal that may be causing this issue. Nevertheless, a written memo will be sent to you for your receiving.

We sincerely hope that this issue regarding tardiness will soon be resolved.

Should you have concerns regarding this, please feel free to send an email or visit us personally in the department.

Kind regards,
Carmela Louise Santos
