The course of the story:
Each chapter in the story is connected with a different chapter.
Here is the web of connections explained:
Chapter 1:
This is Jimin's chapter-
It connects with Hoseok's chapter and in some way with Yoongi's chapter.
This is because Hoseok was the one that shot Jimin, after this he was mentally unstable (because Jimin haunted him in his memories etc) as a result of which he overdosed while talking on the phone with Yoongi.
Jimin was also Taehyung's friend, which is why Yoongi doesn't want to help him.Chapter 2:
This is Hoseok's chapter-
He kills Jimin because that's what he was ordered to do, Yoongi is mentioned in this chapter but not straightforwardly."A month later he was gone" signifies his death, although at that point in the story I could have been referring to Jimin's presence in Hoseok's mind.
Chapter 3:
This is Taehyung's character-Taehyung is being tormented by "his inner self" or "his own shadow"
This chapter is written with speech only because this dialogue is all there really is.The straight/normal font is Taehyung, the italics font is his "inner self/shadow" and the bolt italics is his Doctor.
"Her" is (not related to the album) not a romantic interest but actually his mother. He is asking himself wether it was her fault or his own for being the way he is.
He is in the same ward as Yoongi, when he asks for help only his dog comes close to him; the dog is essentially the one thing that helps Taehyung calm down. (I am well aware that Yoongi's actually dog isn't white. But for the purpose of the story it is white, because 1) doggie from stigma is white and 2) white represents innocence).
["some people die at 25 and are only buried until 72" isn't my quote.]
Chapter 4-
This is Jungkook's chapter-
This chapter actually connects to a few, it connects to Taehyung's chapter (but the connection is only seen in chapter 4) and it connects indirectly to Jimin's chapter, and also it connects with Jin's chapter.1) connection to Taehyung and Jimin-
Taehyung in this chapter is the friend that taught him what "L'appel du Vide" meant. But the person that taught Taehyung that is actually Jimin.
Jimin left Taehyung behind and Taehyung left Jungkook behind.2) connection to Jin-
Jin is the one that drove him to the cliff, although he has no clear memory of doing so.
The small dialogue that is replaying in Jungkook's mind towards the end of the chapter is actually between him and Jin. This is because he visited Jin in hospital, but this isn't shown/written in the book.
The reason why love "won't bring any happiness. That'll bring death" is because Jin gave up his own life for Namjoon.Jungkook jumped because he was hopelessly in love.
(With who I don't know. Not really that relevant as to who it is.)
Chapter 5:
This is Jin'a chapter-Jin can't distinguish fantasy from reality
(And although in real life you won't hallucinate what's there and what's not but rather not be able to know what was a dream and what wasn't, for the sake of the story just flow with it. In simple words he has a certain degree of schizophrenia) therefore he simply did not know Namjoon was crossing the road until he felt the impact.
Please do realise that Namjoon was crossing safely on a green light, Jin just failed to distinguish the traffic lights and for him they simply weren't there. The butterfly, black cat and the boy with the camera (Jungkook) were not there at the time. Jin imagined all those things.
He falls in love with Namjoon when they were taken to the hospital Jin was obviously not as badly hurt as Namjoon, knowing this he gave up his heart and donated it to Namjoon at the same time paying off all the fees and making sure he had V.I.P treatment.
Namjoon's and Jungkook's chapters are the only ones connected to Jin's chapter.
Chapter 6:
This is Yoongi's chapter-Yoongi in no way wants to help Taehyung, this is why until the very end he refuses to speak to him.
Yoongi is a misanthrope which means he hates people which also adds on to the reason as to why he doesn't like Taehyung.
Not wanting to cope with the voice inside his head Taehyung kills himself, but says sorry for something he can not change, Jimin did the same thing in chapter 1, he mouthed "sorry" to Hoseok knowing he wouldn't be able to change what he has done.
Yoongi doesn't accept his apology because Hoseok was the only person he spoke to, the only person he actually cared about. (Platonic SoPe ship)
"Even if I hide, even if I disappear ....are you calling me a sinner" shows that Taehyung knows Yoongi accuses him indirectly for Hoseok's death. He knows that in the eyes of Yoongi he is a sinner, and that even if he were to be dead Yoongi wouldn't forgive him.
He mainly says sorry to make himself feel better before he dies.
(The books on the shelves names "love Yourself " and " You Never Walk Alone" don't mean a thing, their just used as book names because I didn't want to reference actual books and complicate my life)
Chapter 7:
This chapter is Namjoon's-Not everyone dies, but Namjoon & Yoongi die a bit on the inside.
When Namjoon finds out that his heart belonged to Jin he feels a bit guilty, because he doesn't feel like he deserves another chance at life.
The nurse didn't want to say anything to him, because it was requested of Jin to not mention anything of him and just show the letter, (obviously she's rubbish at keeping promises)
The explanation for this chapter is fairly straightforward.
Lilies represent death, Jin used to share the room with him before the surgery, which is why they are placed where they are.
The "Van Gogh" sort of painting on the wall isn't actually a Van Gogh painting. Taehyung did that drawing because that's what they do at psychiatric hospitals, they make them draw what they feel instead of trying to make them explain it.
That's the only indirect connection to a different chapter. But apart from that Namjoon is solely connected to Jin.
Please don't hate me, it is a work of fiction and unless this is a death note the beloved BTS members are still alive.
Thank you for reading.
