I watched

I watched you walk away
but didn't stop you.
I watched you leave the world
but I didn't say a word.

I watched the blood drip down
but didn't bandage them up.
I watched your life fall away
but I didn't bring you back.

I watched the paramedics take you away
but I didn't join you.
I watched them drive you away
but I didn't follow.

I watched the line go up and down
but wished I had helped more.
I watched you open your eyes
but I didn't tell anyone.

I watched as you were mine
but you didn't want to be.
I watched you take your last breath
but I let you.

I watched you slowly die
but I didn't feel anything.
I watched the line go straight
but I didn't feel anything.

I watched you take your life
