"Hey dad!" I said, It can be so difficult sometimes. I feel so alone now, without mom. I'll never get to know what it's like...To have a mom, in this world of Heroes none of them are willing to go out and find her! If I had powers of my own I would search mile and miles until I find her! I may be seventeen, but I can handle myself, trust me I...
"Lithian is that you? Hurry down here I need your help with dinner," Father said.
“Yeah dad, coming!" I can't stand this any longer, he doesn't know me, and he thinks he does! My mother has been gone since I was three. I just have myself and you don't see me complaining, do you?
“Lith, I need you to grab the pots from the cabinet.”
“The big or the small ones?”
“Big.”
“The gold or silv…” My voice trailed off, here it is again. Great, what have I done…? Not only can I fly, my mild can fly too. “Silver…ones…” My father being Kyhrsos, the god of Gold... I should have known that he would want he special gold pots. Sometimes I feel bad for my father, he came down here for my birth, but then had to return to Olypmus. That didn't last very long, after my mother was kidnapped my father had to come down and take care of me, gone from his duties. Away from his friends. To take care of me...
“Gold is fine, I don’t know why you insist on bringing up the silver pots every time I ask you to help me cook!” He screamed.
“Well if you don’t like my help then do it on your own!” I screamed back.
“You know they were your mothers!”
“My mother? What do you mean my mother? She was gone when I was three, you act as if I even knew her…” Our voices grew silent, along with the breathing, you could hear a pin drop. I felt horrible for talking about my mother that way, honestly I never did really know her. Time felt as if it was a ticking time bomb, before I knew it we were at the dinner table.
“Dad, I was wondering…”
“About?” he cut me off, I could tell he was still angry with me.
“About where mom went, I mean…”
“Jade Stone is all I have to say about the matter, any other questions?” He snapped.
“Well yes, I was quite interested in who this Jade Stone person is? I’ve read books and researched her, but I can’t seem to find anything worth knowing, for instance the section about her family…”
“What did it say?” My father asked persistently.
“Nothing really, just that she was disowned by her father. Dad I’ve been thinking, I don’t think that she’s all that tough, and I was also thinking that I could go and, I don’t know… Get mom back?” I couldn’t say it sounding anymore desperate for answers.
“Lithian, it’s more than you think, you aren’t just going to find her, why do you think that no hero has brought her back yet? It’s a mission, not a field trip. It’s not a girl scout going out to sell a box of cookies, it’s dangerous!”
“But dad! Don’t you see! I could get mom back! We could be a family again, just imagine it, eating dinner together, celebrating birthdays, watching movies in the den…” I trailed off into a day dream of laughter and giggles, until my father’s words brought me back to reality.
“Lith, I don’t think you’re ready for anything like this. Now go on to your room and get ready for sleep.”
I headed down the hall that was practically all mine, there was one other room, that looks like my parents had plans for another girl, the walls were bright green with emeralds all over the ceiling. Those plans were probably cut short too.
I was awaken by something flopping down onto my bed, big and heavy like a sack…
“Wake up Lithianthus! You want to find your mother don’t you? Well c’mon get up let’s get moving!”
“Goodness, what hour is it?” I stumbled
“Oh-dark-twenty now let’s get a movin’ sweetheart”
“Wait, did you say I’m going to get mom?” I said rubbing my eyes.
“Yes, I thought about it for quite a while and I’ve decided to go ahead and we’re going to go find her so hurry, we must be gone before dawn,” He said quickly.
I quickly grabbed the bag off of my bed and threw nearly all my clothes into it, I was unable to think. I’m going to save mom. Me. Lithian Bloom.
I was shaking by the time my dad came back in which felt like 10 seconds but was actually an hour later.
“Lith, c’mon. We’ve got to go. You can do this.” My dad said grabbing my bag and throwing a last few items in it.
We walked out the door, the lights on so that no one suspects we’re gone, and set out for a journey that I’m sure I’m not ready for just yet. Eventually we walked far enough to pass a sign that said Now Leaving Kanca… You Might Come Back.
“Dad I don’t think I can do this, its okay, we can get mom another time, or year, or lifetime maybe, yeah that sounds good,” I stuttered.
“Lithian, we’re too far to turn back now, everyone knows that sign is 12 miles outside of town. Let’s keep moving.”
“But dad, how do you know where we are going, do you know where mom is?” I questioned.
“Let’s go this way, Nymphs are that way,”
“Nymphs! Can they hurt us?”
“No my dear, just relax, it’ll be fine.” So we continued down the dark roads, I was growing tired each step I took, by now it had been 15 miles and 9 hours.
“Dad, please can we rest, I’m not strong enough for this journey… You’re right… This isn’t a field trip…
