Boss Week: Day Four Part One

Mark's Pov

I sat up in bed and checked the clock, 3:00AM, sighing I got out of bed and walked out into the hall. Another nightmare....when will they end? I turned and walked towards my recording room trying to be quiet as I walked. I guess I could do another "Worlds Quietest Let's Play". I won't be able to go back to sleep anytime soon so why not? I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard.....crying? I looked down the hall and see my recording room door cracked open a little, the computer light shining through the doorway. I slowly walked closer and sure enough, I could hear someone crying in there.

"S-Signe I-I don't underst-stand....why do you-?" "I'm sorry Sean, but with your job taking up so much time we never get to spend time together anymore, and you keep having to fly from country to country for meeting and panels.....it's just stressful." I peeked into the room. Jack and Signe were Skyping and he was in tears while she had a blank expression. What's going on? "Signe please....d-don't do this." He covered his eyes with one hand, the other gripped the arm on the chair. "I'm sorry Sean. But it's for the best." After that she ended the call. Jack broke down and sobbed, burying his face in his hands. I leaned against the door making it creak slightly, jumping back I hoped he didn't hear it. "M-Mark?" Shit. I opened the door, he was facing me now and wiping his eyes. "I guess you're wondering why I'm in here, huh?" He asked, his voice strained and shaky. "A little....you don't have to tell me." He shook his head and stood up. "She texted me and said we needed to talk so I came in here to use your computer, when I called she said...she said that we sh-should break up....that we-" I pulled him into a tight hug, he jumped slightly but hugged me back. "I'm sorry Jack. I know how much you loved her, I'm so sorry." Jack cried into my shoulder, we sat there like this for about 5 minutes till he finally calmed down. "Are you okay now?" I asked in a quiet voice. He nodded and leaned back in my chair. "I'm sorry about this. I didn't mean to wake you." "Oh no you didn't wake me! I had a nightmare and just thought I'd do another quiet let's play." he chuckled a bit and stood up. "I'll leave ya to it then. I'm just gonna go watch a movie." He left the room and i sat down in my chair setting everything up to record.
