The whole place was dark but had just the right amount of light to set the mood.
I could feel the beat of the music going along with my heart as if they were one. My heart was beating rapidly and aching from the pain my ex-lover had caused upon me, but that's what I'm trying to get over.
My best friend Tatiana brought me here to help and support me as much as she could. But I'd rather be at home moping around, thinking about what I could've done to make our relationship last.
I've been with Matt for over four years, and he now decides he wants to break up with me because he "got bored" of me. That we haven't done anything exciting since our first year of going out.
He decided all of this the day before my birthday, which is currently today. Which is also why Tati is making me do all of these unnecessary things to get over him.
Dancing at a night club with all of these, horny, lonely like me, sweaty strangers. Rubbing their bodies against each other to try to fulfill whatever their "needs" are and then wake up the next morning to leave it all behind you. As if that changes anything.
"Valencia," Tati said as she smacked my arm. "why aren't you dancing?"
I guess she finally noticed me just standing here looking down at my phone.
"Because I don't feel like it. I told you I didn't want to come here."
"Any guy here would be lucky to have you, you just wait and see because I'm sure there's tons of guys dying to talk to you."
"No, I highly doubt it because the way I'm acting right n-" I stopped as soon as I felt a tap on my shoulder.
So I turned around to see a tall handsome man smirking down at me.
"Hey beautiful, how's a drink sound?"
I gave him a questioning look and answered.
"Sorry but I'm in the middle of something with my friend and if you don't mind I'd like to finish the conversation I was having. Sorry." I said then turned back around to see Tati giving me the most disappointed and shocked look ever.
"Oh, alright." I heard the guy say sounding surprised from behind me before he walked off.
"What the hell Val! That guy was hot and totally into you!"
"Well I was serious about finishing my rant."
"Now you're really going to dance with me because now I'm pissed."
"Fine." I sighed and begin to dance how everyone else was.
It shouldn't even be considered dancing. You're really either grinding against someone or swaying your whole body, mostly your ass, around enough in the hopes someone will want to tap it.
I did it anyways just to get Tati off my ass the whole night.
Somehow, I eventually started to enjoy myself and let my body sway with the flow of the music.
A few times whenever my vision was focused enough to make something out, I caught a man sitting in a chair staring at me. Every time I caught a glimpse, he was staring right at me. I looked again and this time we made eye contact which made my body get chills.
It was dark, but I could see the expression on his face so clearly. He has sharp, deep, intense eyes, focused directly on me. He had a smirk on his face with a chiseled jaw. I saw him signal someone over to him and he said something while still looking at me.
I tried to shrug it off and keep dancing but a minute later, a tall built guy that looked like a bodyguard came up to me.
"Compliment from Mr.Omen." The man said with a deep voice as he handed me a martini.
"Thank you." I said as I looked up to where that mysterious guy was sitting but he was no longer there.
I decided to just go find a table to sit down and drink it.
He must have felt sorry for me, looking desperate and alone then left after he felt like he'd done something good.
I sighed and took a sip of the drink.
"I'm so pathetic." I said to myself as I put my hand to my face and looked down at the bar.
"I happen to think that you're stunning." A seductive male voice said as I heard him take a seat in the chair beside me.
I quickly looked up surprised at the gorgeous, hot man in front of me.
"What's a beautiful woman like you doing here all alone?" He smirked.
"You're Mr.Omen?"
"Call me Damien."
"Valencia, and thank you for the drink." I smiled.
"My pleasure, Valencia." He smiled back.
He's really good looking and looks pretty high class because that suit he's wearing looks ex-pen-sive.
The way he said my name, he said it so intriguingly and made chills run down my spine.
Something about this man makes me want to have a little fun tonight and see where this will take me. Or maybe it's the drink that's making me feel this way.
This might be one good time that I won't be able to remember because that drink is already starting to kick in after I took another sip.
"You seem like a mysterious, fun guy."
"You seem pretty interesting yourself." He chuckled. "Want to dance?"
"Sure." I smiled as I put the drink down and we got up and over to the dance floor.
Once we stepped foot on that dance floor, who knows what happened. I'm a lightweight.
