Chapter 12 - Cara's POV
Holy moly... I flop down beside my suitcase as I wait for everyone to get out of the car, my head pounding as the painkillers Linzi gave me are starting to were off. "You look like death, love..." Lou states, coming over to me and flicking a strand of hair out of my eyes.
"I feel like someone is taking a piss on my soul."
Louis bursts out laughing along with a low chuckle from Harry, "Sounds about right."
"Well it serves you right, drinking that much when you know you have an early flight to catch! Looks like karma exists after all." Liam spits back, earning an eye roll from both Louis and I.
"Alright Liam, stop being so harsh. The last thing they need is you playing the sensible dad. Here, I've got some extra-strength painkillers in my bag." Lou replies sternly as she begins to pour out the contents of her leather back-pack.
I let out a groan, the pain getting bad now. The only way I cure my hangovers is listening to loud music while being buried amongst mountains of cushions with plenty of pesto pasta and parmesan. Louis sympathises with me and sits down beside me on the cold concrete ground. He puts an arm around me and I rest my head on his shoulder, "Why did we party too hard Louis?"
"There's no such thing as partying too hard. The worse the hangover, the better the night."
"Well I must've had a crazy night then."
"Here, hopefully that'll get rid of the piss on your soul." Lou smiles reassuringly as she passes both Louis and I painkillers with a bottle of water.
"Bless you." I reply, taking the painkillers gratefully.
"Right, we better make our way to the check-in desk. We're already a tad late." Preston says, giving me a hand up off the ground.
"We'd be on time if someone had decided to set their alarm." Liam mumbles as he lifts his suitcase and storms off ahead of the group.
"Jesus, I'm not going to be able to live this one down, am I?" I've apologised numerous times yet this guy seems to hold a grudge. Yes, regretfully, I didn't set my alarm but come on, we're at the airport in time for the flight! Clearly we're not as late as Liam made out; he just wanted something else to hate me for.
"Don't worry, once we're on the plane he'll be grand." Niall replies, patting my back.
I grimace at the thought of getting on a twenty-one hour flight. They better have pasta on the on-flight meal menu otherwise this trip could just get worse. Security begin surrounding us as we bunk to the front of the check-in queue, some adults huffing as we do. "I hate doing this, it makes us look like we're better than everyone else..." Harry whispers in my ear as he pays careful attention to the glares he receives from impatient costumers in the line.
Harry's a sweet soul, he's definitely not let the fame go to his head. "Mummy, it's One Di-wection!" A little girl squeals, earning the attention of Liam and Harry.
They look over to Paul who's starting to lift their cases onto the conveyer belt. He gives them an improving nod but he sends Preston over with them, just in case things get a little out of hand. I watch from a distance with Niall as Harry and Liam bend down to give the little girl a hug. "I'd go over too but it looks like she's Harry and Liam's biggest fan." He says, pointing over to the girls suitcase which is adorned with Harry and Liam stickers.
