I walked up and down the staircase, making those types of sounds you would normally hear in movies, reverberating throughout the entire stairway. Frowning, I looked down at the piece of paper I had been holding, no, wait- crumpling.
Virus X. Directly attacks the brain cells and sends signals to the rest of the body, causing what would be heard as 'voices in the head'. The brain cells are then forced to send a brand new type of hormone, Hormone X, that stimulates the pain receptors affecting your head.
Simply, refusal equals increasingly painful headaches. I sat down on one of the steps, trying to make use of all the information. There had been two infected people by now- one already dead.
The catch was, the virus didn't kill her. There was something else, something else I was missing on.I chuckled, considering I was the top scientist in the world. Scientist, doctor, whatever related to science. And here I was, barely getting a hold of the information I was holding.
There was one thing I was sure of, though- the government decided I handle the situation myself, provided a few idiots from them assist me. Honestly, how would they know how to help?
There was one thing for sure though, I was going to look for that one infected person, and that person would be cured no matter what.Isn't it dangerous, you may ask? Virus X was a special case, from what it does to how it spreads. It's not airborne, apparently, it's something else, something new. Interesting, I know.
But for now, I had to touch up a little bit more on the Ebola virus cure, which would take about a few more hours. After that, X is my next mission.
Oh, and did I tell you my name?
It's Chase.
