Papyrus X Undyne

The Surface

-Two months later-

Undyne's POV
It's a month after leaving the underground. It took a while to get used to all this. Grillby still owns a restaurant and Muffet's bakery is right around the corner. Things with Pap are great, were next door neighbors. There's a knock on the door.
"It's unlocked, come in," I said.
"Hi Undyne!" Pap said walking in the door. I smiled.
"Hey Pap," I replied.
"I was wondering if you wanted to walk to Muffet's," He said, blushing a little.
"Sure Pap!" I replied happily. We walked down the street holding hands. We got to Muffet's pretty quickly.
We sat down and ordered some not chocolate to go, it was cooler morning.
"Undyne, I wanted to talk," Pap said. He looked at me, "Sans hasn't been around lately and I'm kind of lonely."
"Aw Pap, you have me," I said with a small smile. He smiled back.
"Well, I- um," He stuttered. He pulled something out of his pocket and placed it on the table in front of me. I looked at the small key for a second.
"I-It's an extra key, t-to my house," He said nervously, "So you can come over anytime."
"Thanks Pap," I said giving him a kiss on the cheek. He blushed a bit. I grabbed the key and put it in my pocket. After five minutes of chatting our hot chocolate came.
"I wanna show you something," He said, grabbing my hand. We walked outside and he led me down the street.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"You'll see," He replied with a smile. We stopped in front of the park, we've been here before. We go on morning walks and feed the ducks at the pond.
"This way," He said. He led me past the pond, through a large group of trees to a grassy clearing.
"Whoa, this place is cool," I said, looking around.
"I found this place a few days ago," He said, "Its a great place to stargaze.
I smiled, "Are we coming back tonight?" He nodded.

-that night-

I had my black jacket on and a blanket in my hand. I walked into the clearing Pap showed me in the morning. He was laying on the ground looking at the stars. I laid down next to him
"Hey Pap," I said. I looked up, the stars were beautiful it reminded me of where Pap and me had our first kiss.
"It's beautiful," I said staring at the stars in awe
"Yeah, it reminds me of you, because your beautiful," He replied.
"I love you," I said. After a while it started to get colder, so we decided on the way back to stop at Muffet's.
We walked through the park holding hands. Things will be better from now on.

-4 months later-

Papyrus POV

"Sans, do you think I should go through with this?" I asked.
"Bro, if you really feel like it, do it," Sans replied. I walked into the bathroom. I looked in the mirror closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I walked outside to Undyne's house, I knocked on the door.
"Hey Pap," Undyne said opening the door. She was wearing a red dress with a black leather jacket.
"Hi Undyne, you ready to go?" I replied holding my hand out for her to grab.
"Yeah," She answered, grabbing my hand.  We walked to an Italian food place that was across town.

Undyne's POV

We walked into the restaurant, Pap had a reservation so we didn't have to wait. We talked for a bit until the bread basket came. Pap was acting a little different but I don't care, he's still the lovable skeleton I know. We  talked a lot. Our food came and we started eating.
"U-Undyne, I want to ask you something," Pap said, sort of out of the blue.
"What do you want to ask?" I replied. He took a deep breath.
"Undyne," Pap got out of his chair and went on one knee, "Will you Marry me?" I covered my mouth with my hands. I've never been happier.
"Pap," I smiled. "YES!" He was so happy, he lifted me in the air and spun me around. Before setting me down, he kissed me. Everyone in the restaurant was looking at us, smiling and saying congratulations. He slipped the ring on my finger.
