The birth of Princess Sahara was said to so difficult that it left her mother, the king's wife barren. Angered that he would never have a son, and unable to divorce, the king withdrew his affections and turned to whores and loose woman to fill his nights, leaving a string of lowly bastards in his wake.
Sahara devotes herself to preparing to take the thrown, which is her birthright despite of her fathers detachment to her. Vowing never to be broken by infidelity like her mother, she turns away every suitor who she even suspects could ever stray. This future monarch planned to rule just like she married; kind but iron fisted, waiting for the day she takes the thrown and the threat of death shall scare any husband into faithfulness. Her plans are trampled when a treaty is born between her father and the neighboring King of Paduca. The kingdoms shall unite in a marriage between Sahara, and the notorius whoremonger, Prince Bassali. After this union, the new couple will asend to a joint rule. After a lifetime spent cleaning up after her fathers bastards, this particular princess had no intention of marrying anyone who would stray from her marriage bed. Enraged by her entrapment into the Marriage, she cunningly strikes up a bargain with her new husband, challenging him to a game of royal fidelity.
