After collecting each other's numbers you all decided to go home, you had lost track of time and it had gotten dark pretty quickly. You were smiling the whole way back to (f/n)'s house, unaware of a less than happy Karkat.
"I can't believe it's eleven at night already" (f/n) laughed, unlocking the door to her house.
Karkat grumbled something inaudible, "I can't believe it's still today." burying his chin into the collar of his turtleneck, he crossed his arms "you guys were talking for at least four days in there." You felt your heart drop
"Did you not enjoy it?" You asked, hurt
"Well-" Karkat rushed "it's just that you guys get along really well and ,I guess I felt a bit left out ya know?" he clenched his fists, visibly trying to un-offend you
"I guess that's fine then..." you mumbled "You'll start to feel more welcome, I promise" sending a warm smile to Karkat you made your way upstairs to go to bed. All that socialising made you quite worn out.
"I don't think he likes me" Karkat said to (f/n), making them turn around
They seemed confused "I'm sure he likes you, he likes everyone." they smiled to themselves
"you like him, don't you?"
"What?! n-no.." (f/n) flailed and turned away. "Was it that obvious"
"nah, you gazing at him like he's the centre of this meaningless shit pile of a universe is a completely normal, platonic thing to do"
"but he isssss" they fell back onto the sofa with a wide grin plastered onto their face.
"alright whatever, I'm going to bed." Karkat yawned "seeya in the morning"
"mhmm" they replied, still thinking of Skylar.
"good to know my words are appreciated" He grumbled to himself as he got changed.
He entered the guest bedroom, tip-toeing as carefully as he could as not to wake you. He eventually got to the bed and pretty much passed out instantly.
===Flashback===
Karkat sighed as he sorted the last box of the pile. His kitchen things were finally all put away, not very neatly, but away. Making his way to the counter, he made himself a warm cup of coffee and made his way to his bedroom. The bedroom was the first room he had tried to construct any of the furniture in so the bed and two bedside tables were fully built and a half made cupboard sat in the corner. he placed the mug on the table and sat on the soft bed, wrapping a blanket around himself, he opened his new human husktop, or a "laptop".
He was just about to delve into the wanders of the internet when a loud banging was heard at his door. Muttering strings of colourful language, he un-curled himself and answered the door.
Gamzee stood at his door in the rain, a large wooden crate beside him.
"Thanks for warning me that you were coming" Karkat sarcastically greeted his friend "Now get your dumb ass in here, you'll get ill if you stay out there."
Wordlessly, Gamzee picked up the crate and walked in. Furrowing his brows, Karkat followed. The indigo blooded troll opened the crate up and placed its contents on the floor, his shorter friend watching in disbelief as a human girl was placed onto the floor. Her (h/l) (h/c) hair matted and damp with a twig or two poking out of it, her soft (s/c) skin covered in cuts on her cheek and her clothes were damp too.
"Gamzee, what the ever-loving fuck are you doing with a girl in a crate?" Karkat yelled, his concern coming across as anger. The tall troll turned away with a blank expression and walked out of the front door, closing it behind him. "Why?" Karkat muttered. He stormed over to the door and threw it open, scanning the street for him only to see no traces of his Faygo loving friend.
"What the hell????" Karkat closed his door and made his way to the human on the floor. "Hey, fucknugget, wakey wakey!" he yelled but got no response. "hey!" He poked the girl but still was met with nothing.
After a lot of thought, ( he read short books and fanfictions online with people waking up in strange places.) Karkat decided to dry the girl off with a towel and pick the shrubbery out of her hair. He examined her face, her gentle eyelashes gracefully closed and her soft lips sat slightly open, letting soft breaths be heard as she breathed.
Karkat fetched the blanket he was planning to relax in and draped it over the vulnerable female's body. He tried to pick her up to take her to a bed or something but he didn't trust himself to be able to carry her all the way.
He went to bed that night with thoughts swarming about the orphic girl downstairs.
