I had jumped from my window. The man kept looking into the darkness that surrounded me supposedly looking for me. "Why would he come back for me?" I kept thinking to myself.
I tried getting up but my ankle was killing me. You would have thought you'd have broken it with all the pain. Though it was to dark to see anything, I had no choice but to crawl away from where I had fallen.
I made it to a bench in our Kingdoms garden. My ankle was swollen badly and looked like a puff ball. It hurt to the touch and I couldn't walk, let alone keep my slipper on any longer. I looked up to my window. The distance and couldn't see the man anymore. Perhaps he gave up or maybe is still looking for me. I needed to hide, but where? I looked around and suddenly saw a brush surrounding the wall over at the end of our castles land.
I crawled over and crouched behind the brush trying not to make any sound. My ankle was still aching and had started feeling like someone had stuck needles into it repeatedly. Suddenly, I heard a brach snap and saw a figure walking towards the bench I had just came from. It appeared to be the man from my room, and he was apparently still looking for me.
He wasn't being quite or anything. It looked like he was trying to make noise from my view. "Sayla! Come out wherever you are. I need to speak with you." He kept repeating. I leaned back against the wall and felt a small movement. I turned around and pushed harder. Surprisingly, the old, worn bricks were giving out and could be pushed out of place if knocked hard enough. I looked for the mysterious man and to my astonishment he was gone. I kicked the bricks and about 5 of them fell out of place and created a small doorway. I kicked in more spots and made even more bricks fall too.
I crawled through the opening and made it to the other side. To my knowledge I was in the uncommon area called the woods. It was very dark underneath all these trees and I had no way to get a source of light. I heard a seam ripping and felt my dress get looser. My sleeve must have got caught on a branch. I crawled around for about 10 minutes, trying not to think about my ankle. I felt the locket dangling from around my neck. I wondered to myself if something was inside, and why I had received it.
