My form tutor was called Mr Hardy, he seemed perfectly pleasant but didn't seem too interested in his students. Since introducing me to the form as 'Abigail,' he hasn't said anything to me, that doesn't bother me though; I'd rather just blend in.
When I sat down in the only spare seat I was lucky enough to be next to Felicity, she seemed really chatty and sociable and started talking to me about all sorts. When I finally had the chance to get a word in I told her my name was actually 'Allie.' She found it hilarious that he got my name wrong and said I should call her Flick. She also introduced me to her friends, Megan and Hannah. Megan and Hannah seemed quite shy and reserved; I could tell that was why they got along with Flick.
My first lesson was Art, which I was thrilled about, although I didn't have it with any of the girls. I walked into the familiar classroom and took a seat towards the back; I was planning on paying attention in this lesson anyway. The teacher, Miss Danver, was really sweet and I was thankful that she introduced herself to me privately, rather than in front of the whole class. We didn't do much, she just told us about the project for this term and how we were free to choose a topic and go from there.
My second lesson was Maths, it was in another building so I had to ask Miss Danver to point me in the right direction. It was a more modern building and there were loads more classrooms but I managed to find the right one. I was awful at Maths, I tried to be positive though, so I chose a seat at the front, in the left corner. Not that there was much choice, most of the students were crowded around a couple of desks at the back, talking amongst themselves. I brought my bag onto my lap to get out my maths books. I had to rummage through a second time… and a third. Where were they?
Louis POV
I walked into the classroom quickly, searching for that girl; if I didn't have Maths with her then I wouldn't be able to give her book back. And I doubt she'd appreciate a detention on her first day just because I stole her textbook and didn't give it back in time…
I panicked a little thinking how wrong this could go, but then I saw her. She was sitting at the front so I could only see her back, her hair flowing down behind her chair. Her head was dipped; she was searching through her bag for something. I came to the conclusion this must be her book and that gave me the little boost of confidence I needed to go and return it.
I walked up to behind her chair; she was even smaller than I remembered. "Allison Darcy." It came out more of a question than I intended. I cleared my throat. "I believe this belongs to you."
She looked up at me, her eyes lighting up as they glanced over the textbook, before meeting mine. She closed her eyes in relief, and I took that as a chance to look at her full lips, again slightly parted. "Thank you." She gave me a warm, gentle smile. "Allie." She whispered, correcting me. Allie. Allie seemed so sincere, so genuine. It was refreshing compared to most girls at this school. She was stunning too, not plastered in make-up.
I extended my hand. "Pleasure to meet you, I'm L-"
"Mr Tomlinson, I suggest you take a seat before I provide you with one at lunchtime." Mr Phillips briskly marched in, half joking, half deadly serious. He liked me, I was one of the top students in this Maths class, but I was still well aware he gave out punishments in the dozens.
I took the spare seat next to Allie, and she looked slightly frightened by Mr Phillips bluntness, giving her full attention to him as he addressed the class. I watched her out of the corner of my eye, smiling at how adorable she was trying to concentrate when we hadn't even begun Maths. Mr Phillips turned to write something on the board so I took advantage of the opportunity to continue my introduction.
I leaned towards her to get her attention. "Louis, Louis Tomlinson." I winked, to make it a bit less formal. She smirked whilst glancing between me and Mr Phillips, not wanting to get caught talking. I decided to let her resume her concentration, so I opened up my Maths books and began the work on the board. A couple of seconds later I caught her looking at me and we briefly made eye contact before she instantly looked away. She really did have the most dazzling eyes.
Allie POV
The bell to mark the end of second lesson rang and I started to pack my maths stuff away, standing up to the side of my desk. Louis was already standing next to me, looking down. He swung his back onto his shoulder and looked up to me about to say something.
"Allison, could I have a quick word?" Mr Phillips' deep voice bellowed. Louis looked annoyed that he had interrupted yet again; I laughed to myself at his little sigh and watched him turn to talk to some guys behind him. I walked over to Mr Phillips, eager to make a good impression but before I could introduce myself properly he started talking.
"I've been looking at your past grades, and since we're halfway through the year I think it would benefit you to have a little student mentoring for Maths. We're taking the higher course and I think it would be useful if you had some help to catch up."
I thought about this for a moment but knew I should take the opportunity. I knew I sucked at maths and needed any help I could get. "That sounds great."
He smiled, pleased at my agreement. "I'll give you more details next lesson then."
I briefly replied with a "thank you" before walking out of the door into the corridor. I pulled my long necklace out and opened the lock with the key, stuffing my Art and Maths books into my locker. I didn't know what to do now that it was break time so I went back into the form room. I was relieved to see Flick waving me over, I spent the next twenty minutes talking to her, Megan and Hannah.
