The moon fell from the sky
Into your palms
Held between fingers
You traced its crescent
I fell from the sky
Into your palms
The stars waned in my absence
The darkness filled the gap
"Crestfallen"
You said as you held us
Warmed by your spirit
Safe in the embrace
Delicate like infants
You took us gently, placed us back
Against the backdrop of space
Protected by the fabric
No longer to descend upon a nightfall
For you had a watchful eye
Forever in place
You gave your word
The pain subsided
Once not alone
Away from our setting
You brought us home
