Every night, stars travel the sky

They pack their bags

Kiss their wives goodbye

We point our telescope up for good view

The screen fades to black

The Milky Way takes its cue

The stars reveal themselves, one at a time

The spotlight's on them

Quiet moving like mimes

Acting out stories, they play for us mortals

Looking below

They give a good chortle

Feasting above at their decadent banquets

While we drink hot chocolate

And are warmed by a blanket

Myths were once truth

As our non-fiction books say

Ancient tales lost to youth

They drift away
