Henry sat there on the bed for what seemed like a long time as he stared down at his hands, wondering about many things, his ear giving a little twitch now and then. It was completely dark outside now and Beck still had not returned, the hybrid was worried about him, even though it had only been a few minutes since Rebecca had left him and said that he would be here soon enough. He just needed to learn patience, that would help him most in this situation and he knew that. The hybrid heaved himself from the comfy mattress, walking across the room with Beck's cotton shirt still being worn by him as he entered the kitchen. Henry decided that in the meantime, he would make some hot cocoa while he awaited the male's return. He often wondered how the taller male actually thought about him, even when they weren't together. He could probably ask Rebecca, but he felt like it would be an invasion of privacy of some sort. Henry shook his head as he warmed up a few mugs of water and mixed in some hot cocoa powder within them, the relaxing smell going through his senses. Despite him being a canine hybrid, it was perfectly fine for him to like chocolate and consume it like a normal person. Besides, that would be just stupid, if you really think about it. Stirring the drink with a small spoon, the click of the door sounded behind him, making his ears perk as his heart did a small flip within his chest. "Christ, that took longer than I thought it would.." Beck muttered as he walked into the cabin, hanging up his coat and taking off his black beanie and setting it on the table beside the door as he looked to the hybrid who was resting against the counter with a warm mug in his hands. "Welcome home." Henry said with a softened smile, his tail wagging behind him, "I made hot cocoa for us." Beck smiled and walked over to the male, kissing his forehead. "Awesome, I missed you. Sorry for being gone for so long." He murmured as he picked up his own mug of the hot beverage as he leaned against the counter next to Henry quietly.
They stood there for a moment in silence, enjoying the warm drink before the hybrid grew more curious about the obvious at hand. "So, uh, where have you been for the last few hours?" Henry asked, looking down at his drink, "Rebecca refused to give me any details about it because she said you wouldn't allow it." Beck gave a lightened chuckle at this, taking a sip of his hot cocoa before answering. "Ah, well, I'm glad I could trust my little sister with keeping the news a secret." He said, "But, yeah, I forbid her from telling you cause I wanted to tell you myself in person because, you know, it's sort of a big deal." As he finished the sentence, Henry narrowed his eyes at the male. "No, I don't know, you dork." The hybrid remarked at him, rolling his eyes for a moment as the taller male scratched the back of his neck, "Since you are here now, how about actually spilling the beans?" Henry said as he put the warm mug to his lips, taking a sip while he listened to Beck beside him. "Heh, I suppose you are right. I was at my university, had to get there before it was too late or I would've procrastinated." Beck said, looking up at the ceiling as he said the next set of words, "I spoke to my professors today and I dropped out of college completely." The hybrid almost choked on his drink as he was in mid-sip as the brown-haired male said this, coughing as he set down the mug. "You did what?" Henry remarked, looking at Beck with utter surprise. "Dropped out of college." He repeated, a small smile poking at the corners of his mouth as he said so. "Why on Earth would you do that? I thought you wanted to go back to finish off your classes and whatever?" The hybrid said, knowing nothing about how the university worked or just college in general, but he was smart enough to know what dropping out meant - mostly since he dropped of high school. Beck simply laughed at the smaller male's reaction that was full of surprise and shock, but he simply took another sip of his hot beverage that was resting between his hands before answering Henry.
"That is true, I did want to finish off my classes and you know, further my education like I had once planned - when I realized that there was no point." The emerald-hued eyed male explained, giving a slight shrug as he looked out at the dark forest through the window, "In my classes, they were boring and tedious, giving me nothing but stress and exhaustion. I used to believe that I had some friends made there, but when I found out how they truly saw you on that sidewalk, I immediately disowned them." Henry only blinked at him, speechless as he continued onwards, "As I sat in those classes, I would constantly miss you to a point where it was just so overbearing to be away from you. I used to get texts and calls from you when I had lunch, but I could tell that you didn't like doing that because I would get distracted - despite that those texts were the highlight of my day. I hated coming home so late and too tired to even say anything to you and it just destroyed me inside from what that college life had done to me. I'm not a genius, but I think that I'm pretty smart enough to get through life without going to college. With college now being out of the way, I can now devote all my time and affection to you. I know how depressed you get when I'm gone, don't you dare think I either don't notice or Rebecca doesn't tell me about such things. I love you, Henry, for as much of my soul and heart that I have left after all these years. I'm never leaving you again." As he finished, the male looked down at the raven-haired male, who was peering up at him with gleaming eyes, which made him smile. "I suppose I'm your full-time problem now." Beck teased him and in less than a second, Henry had embraced him, wrapping his arms around the larger male as his tail wagged excitedly behind him. "I love you so much.." Henry whimpered, "I cannot believe that you would do something like that for me, but I'm just so happy right now and I just.. I cannot stop smiling and I just feel so excited... Thank you, thank you, thank you, Beck!" He whined with an overly excited, positive manner that made Beck happier than ever. "No problem, pup. I'm all yours now." He said with a warm chuckle stirring from him again as he held the hybrid close to his chest.
