"UGH, BUT MOM. Studying is SOOOOO boring" complained the curly ginger headed protagonist.

"You're still doing it Rune." Rune's Mother stated firmly, wanting to explain in her tone that he was NOT failing this coming school year SIMPLY because he was bored. The ONLY reason he passed last year was because he passed a test that said he could and did a TON of extra credit and late work. She, unlike him, had wavy red hair that reached to her waist. She had currently put it up in a messy bun, as she always did when she was working or meant business. After a short while of them staring each other down stubbornly. She sighed annoyed at her son's stubbornness and proclaimed teasingly. "Wherever did you get to be so stubborn." Producing a smile from the young boys lips. "Fine, don't study." She stated quite plainly, much to the boys surprise.

"R-really?"

"Really." She said letting the boy get up from his chair and start walking out of the dinning room before continuing. "I guess I can just tell everyone down at the station that my son won't be a famous criminologist and that he won't go on to write collage textbooks and whatever else it is famous criminologist's do..." She guilted him, making him stop in his tracks and take a second. After a few seconds had passed the boy let out an exaggerated sigh and sat back down, continuing his work. She smiled knowing he was MUCH easier to guilt then his sister. Then riffing his hair and getting back to cooking dinner for the two of them.

Damn it, I despise when she's right. My names Rúnda, but everyone just calls me Rune. I'm 15 and live in Voorheesville, Texas. No, It's not what you think. We're FAR from hillbillies. To be honest it's actually nice here. Small towns however mean that everyone know just about everything that happens. Making it surprising that my family has been able to keep SUCH a big secret from everyone for SO long. You see we aren't exactly what we appear. We're witches... no not the warts and broomsticks and turn you into a frog kind. We're actually more akin to Druids and the fact that our magic HELPS rather then hurts. Don't get me wrong, we can use magic to hurt, but we don't for fear of witchhunters. That apparently believe that all witches worship the devil or something. To be entirely honest I don't even get it. I mean... I'm atheist so... yeah, they're quite silly. Anyway a few months ago for my 15th Birthday my mother started teaching me to use my powers. She said anyone can learn it, but for safety reasons we only teach inside the family. My dad wasn't too keen on me learning, but mom eventually convinced him. I mean it's not exactly something they can go to court over. They're divorced by the way, but still friends. Most people think that's really weird or think I'm sad about it, but to be honest that's just always how it's been. I visit my dad on rotating weeks. As in my mom gets me one week, dad the next. Speaking of mom, she's actually an Officer at the station downtown. It's actually quite rare that she's home, but when she is I get to taste her delicious spaghetti. It's my favorite. "NYEH"

"What was that sweety?" Mom called from the kitchen

"Nothing mom!" I replied. Continuing to study. Anyway ever since I started learning witchcraft my "grades" (Dad hired a tutor who "grades" me) have been... taking a bit of a vacation, which mom isn't too happy about. My dad is a bit more lenient, probably cause he wants me to stop learning and wants mom to see that "I can't handle it". Psssh, I totally got this. He's a game developer for a really big company. He makes quite a bit of money which is cool, but his job is even cooler and so are the free games I get out of it. Needless to say I can kinda feel lonely because of it though, and I'm often left alone or watching Ceara(Ke-ra), my little sister.

I stare at the scars along my arms. I... use to cut... but that was before. I had had a bit of a dark point in my life then. I was feeling especially lonely and was still processing the fact I was gay. Amusingly after I came out, I found out my mom was bi... we went out to "yay I'm gay" brunch and got some shakes at Jackson's (the local Dinner, that everyone goes to). Not very brunchy I know, but come on. I got a shake... don't judge me. Anyway I started seeing a therapist not long after, her name is Jessica, she smells like cinnamon and is really nice. I'm still seeing her every few weeks but, as a friend rather then a patient. Unfortunately being the only gay kid in school means that I'd be bullied... or so I thought, apparently the kids at my school are really accepting of being gay... not much else to be honest... kids are assholes. Of course being the only openly gay(... I know, stop lying to yourself Gary) kid in school ALSO means my dating pool dropped from over half the school to none. Which let me tell you, in and of itself is a cruel and unusual punishment. My Kung-fu training that my dad signed me up for DID help to occupy my time. Master Lee is funny, scary, but funny. Let's just say I rather not get on his bad side.

"Whatcha working on." My incorperial friend said making me jump.

"Dathúil leave the boy alone!" My mother yelled from the Kitchen.

"Aww, you're no fun anymore Shea." Said the incorperial man taking a seat next to me that was already pulled out.

This is Dathúil(Da-hool). Our resident Kwami or "mini god". He says he isn't quite a god, but that's simply the best way to explain it. He's my best friend, He was also my mom's best friend when she was young. See as witches we have the ability to see into the spirit realm where Kwami and other things reside. Dathúil has dark magenta hair and nice and smooth tan skin, he also has odd tribal tattoos all over his body(HOT) and cat- sorry, I mean PUMA ears and a tail(Which he won't let me touch💢💢💢). He's actually quite handsome, which is VERY distracting for this 15 year old. Unfortunately for me though he's in love with someone named Tikki apparently another Kwami. She's a bug or something, I was a bit distracted when he was telling me... if you know what I mean. He also has a "twin brother" named Neeks, though I've never met him. He says that's not his real name, but that he changed it for reasons. I didn't dare pry because he looked very serious as he had told me.

Closing my textbook I sighed loudly and exclaimed. "FINALLY!" Notifying ma that I was done. Not two seconds later she came out with two plates of spaghetti and I let out a triumphant "NYEH HEH HEH!" Mom gave me a confused look and Dathúil facepalmed.

"You're such a dork Rune." Dathúil finally replied breaking the awkward silence I created as mom giggled and then sat down and started eating. I smiled following moms lead... spaghetti... yum ^-^

I wanted to apologize for this part, I got permission and got a tid bit excited and started brainstorming immeaditly. One thing led to another and here I am at 2:00 AM in the morning posting this. I don't have a regular schedule for this so every few weeks if you want me to continue and I for whatever reason stop. Please message me, I don't wanna forget about this. Sometimes it'll just be that I'm uninspired, while others I am. So expect fluctuations in the amount I post and the time in between each update.

That's all, love you ~<3
