Dad sits on a chair in front of the metal table that I am sitting cross-legged on. He carefully picks up a yellow folder marked with the S.H.I.E.L.D. insignia and a title that reads, 'Avengers Initiative'. A familiar hand suddenly lands on top of it, stopping Dad from opening it. I look up and grin.

Oh yay!

Director Furry.

"I don't think I want you looking at that. I'm not sure it pertains to you anymore," Director Fury momentarily looks at Dad and then points a finger at me, "And you," I raise my eyebrows, "What are you even doing here, Miss Stark? This is a secure and confidential S.H.I.E.L.D. location."

He sends a dirty look to Dad who just shrugs.

"You make it sound like my presence is painful for you, Director Furry," I try to keep a straight face, "I'll have you know that I am actually considered a national hero as of two days ago."

He doesn't seem too ruffled about my statement because he moves on, taking out another folder and holding it in our direction, "Now this on the other hand, Stark, is Agent Romanoff's assessment of you. Miss Stark, since you're here, why don't you make yourself useful and read it for us?"

"If you're trying to see if I am literate, Director, be relieved of any concern. I am graduating from MIT in six days."

Dad just smiles in amusement as Director Fury taps his fingers on the desk, waiting for me to do as I'm told.

Director Furry's a toughie, I'll give him that.

I heave a dramatic and long-suffering sigh before I take the folder from him, opening it up to peer inside.

I clear my throat before beginning, "'Personality overview. Mr. Stark displays compulsive behavior.'"

"In my own defense, that was last week," Dad, with wide eyes, points at me and then at the director.
