Last chapter was kinda confusing; it was written at like 11:00 pm. Also, I changed some of the lyrics to make it more like a real conversation and less of a lyrical one.

It's been a year since Michael and Jeremy broke up. They've lost contact. Everything really. 12 years worth of friendship.. and 4 years worth of romance, flushed down the toilet. It was all wasted. Like how Michael is right now.

It was currently Mid-August. A party downtown was happening and Rich invited his friends to come. Not just any friends. We're talking about the Squip squad. This group has stayed strong ever since the "SQUIP incident", as they'd like to call it.

They were pretty much happy in each other's company. Well... most of them.

Loud music was muffled outside of the building but the stench of sweat and alcohol was evident.

The first ones to enter was: Michael, Rich, Brooke, and Jenna. Rich, being the short one of the group, almost got lost in the crowd. Michael was basically the tallest so he had to find him immediately. Wouldn't want to start a fire or anything.

A few moments later, the other half of the group entered: Jake, Chloe, Christine, and Jeremy.

The moment Michael's eyes laid on Jeremy, the rest of the world disappeared. It was only them. At least for Michael.

The breakup was hard for the taller boy. He cried for months, and he haven't moved on since. So seeing Jeremy again was a huge trigger.

"Oh wow-hey-wow, how's it going?" Michael stammered. Jeremy approached him in an awkward stance. Nothing much changed, except the fact that Jeremy's moved on and with a new.

"Hi" Jeremy replied, waving a bit. The awkward tension was obvious between them, it's no secret.

"I thought you moved out of town? It's been so long, it's like forever. Suddenly you're here, just in the neighbourhood-well anyway.. what'd you think about the showing?" Michael pointed at the girl who just finished crying her heart out with Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody'.

"I guess it's off the cord" Jeremy chuckled.

"Pretty clear, she's trying hard but um, is it me or.. is this spectre kinda weird?" Michael changed the subject. He earned a nod from the other boy.

"You look well.. better than I would've figured. N-not that I've been picturing you or drawing portraits of you, of course" He denied.

"Uh.. thanks I guess?" Jeremy smiled a bit. Suddenly, Michael had an urge to touch his hair.

"Let me see- nOPE! No nothing's really triggered!" he nervously laughed, "I guess you weren't the one for me.."

"Sad truth is tough to spin" the other one agreed. These words pierced through Michael's heart. This is too much for him.

"Cause if we were, we would have been right?" He faked a smile.

"Yeah.."

"Hey Jeremy.. you know what?"

"What?"

"I never think of you.. no offense, I'm kinda busy. Haven't thought of us really. I couldn't see why I'd even" He lied through his teeth. Sad truth is, he missed Jeremy dearly. He still loves him, but not everything is the same.

"Really? Oh uh.. um.. well-"

"I'm never up at night, wondering why or like 'God, how is he?!'. I've made it through, it's all good" He flashed another fake smile. This charade just never ends for him.

"It's um.. it's good to see you're still in shape" Michael rubbed his nape. It's not obvious but he started again. On his wrists, nape, legs.. you name it. There are more bumps in his road like never before.

"You've been working out?" He asked.

"Yeah dude, I'm glad you noticed" Jeremy smiled.

Christine was near them but with Jenna, they were dancing and flailing their hands like a freaking monkey.

"So you and Christine huh? I guess you really do like her.. it's good to see you've brought a friend. So um, how- how's that.. working out?" He gestured at the girl. Envious of Jeremy's current relationship. The day he found out that they were dating, broke him.

"We're doing pretty well actually.. I mean, so far at least" He smiled.

Christine looked over and waved to them.

"Hi-" Michael waved back. He turned his attention back to his former boyfriend.

"She've always been so pretty.. guess you made a clean escape. Congratulations" he spoke in sarcasm. Jeremy decoded this and scrunched his face.

"What do you mean?" His tone sounded upset.

"What?- oh no! I didn't mean anything! N-no.. no really I'm just uhm.. I'm just drunk" he raised his red solo cup.

"Wow um, here we are! Who'da thunk? Am I right?" Tears started to form in his eyes as the memories flooded in.

"Michael, are you oka-"

"Wow! No really.. I'm fine" he choked back his tears.

"Things end.." He said as he brushed his fingers through his dark hair.

"I.. I know" was all that Jeremy could muster.

"Um.. when you left, I considered quitting painting"

"What? But Michael, you loved painti-" he interrupted Jeremy again.

"Y'know I was thinking how bout' law? Or maybe the circus.. that's a good option too, since I'm such a freak. I also considered the KKK but then I remembered that you were Jewish so I was like 'nah'" Michael laughed a low tone.

Jeremy was of course, shocked to hear this. Michael? Joining the circus? And law? But he's a stoner, he should quit doing illegal drugs if he wants to study legal stuff.

So with nothing else to say, he muttered, "R..right"

"My uh.. my squip- I mean shrink says that all the dizziness and fainting comes from focusing too much on the past. A-and that time replaced the lenses. He prescribed a sort of fast? A total mental cleanse..." he slipped his words.

'Too close, Michael' a voice came from his head. He shrugged this voice away.

"But um yeah, I don't think of you. I'm ten weeks sober" he said proudly.

"That's cool" said Jeremy.

"I'm doing pretty well, I function like I should. Oh yeah um, we'll be five years this October" that's when it happened. The tears flew down on his cheeks. Jeremy held his cheeks and wiped the tears away.

Michael pulled away.

"Awesome party, I'm so glad I came.. aren't you? But uh- I.. I have to go. Anyways, my number's still the same, so if you wanna call me, it's all good.... bye" He walked past Jeremy and made his way outside. He hoped that Jeremy would go after him like in the movies. But it was impossible... he had Christine and Michael.. was alone.

So he made his way out the door.

But someone grabbed his hand.
