He'd had no one but his own heartbeat for conversation, but the sobbing was worse.
The pain had ended. He could think clearly again. But - while he still couldn't wake up without his brain screaming - he could hear snatches of everything.
Red.
He struggled and fought, and almost succeeded, but nothing. Red. Where are you?
God must've heard him - how can He not have? Gray had said her name in his pillow of oblivion half a hundred thousand times. More like God's sick of hearing him say it.
Erina. Erina. That's her real name, isn't it?
Stupid that it took a beating for him to remember.
Erina. What a beautiful name.
He kept saying it. In his mind. Erina. Erina.
