13.The Unknown Childhood Is Found

As we pulled in the drive way,I got out and walked inside,
Adi ran over to me,bombarding me with questions.
"How was it?What did you do?Do you like it?"y'know,all that stuff.
"It was good and I'm actually kind of excited for this whole new school thing I guess."I shrugged.
A big smile leapt onto her face as she hugged me.
"I knew you'd like it."she said releasing the hug.
"Oh!We have to go shopping for your new school clothes!"She said with a big happy smile.
I smiled,
"Only if you don't mind."I smiled.
"Billie,we'll be back!"Adi said so fast grabbing the keys.
"Okay!"Billie yelled from the practice room.
And with that Adi&I got to the car and went to the nearest mall.
When we got to the mall we got out of the car,walking inside the large mall.
"Where to first?"Adi asked,smiling.
I shrugged.
"Hmm..I have some stores we could check out.."She said.
"Let's go."She said,waving for me to follow her.
And with that I quickly caught up with her.
-After the mall-
We were finally done school shopping,I got tons of clothes that I loved.
We were on our way back to the house.
"So,Billie has told me that you really like playing instruments."Adi said.
"Yeah,I love it."I said.
"Well..It's good to know there's another Armstrong with musical talent."She smiled as we pulled into the drive way.
I helped her grab the bags and we walked inside,
"We're back!"Adi called.
Billie came from the practice room.
"Did you get what you needed?"He asked.
I nodded,
"I'll go put my stuff away."I said,walking up the stairs.
I entered my room and started unloading all my things into the closet.
I really enjoyed shopping with Adrienne and being able to spend time with her.
It was nice.
I smiled,still putting things away.
Mother never got to do that stuff with me,she was usually working and I had school.
Plus,she was always tired when she'd come home so I'd usually entertain myself somehow.
I rarely saw my family besides when it came to birthday parties,reunions,BBQ's,holiday's,and other times.
None of my cousins have stayed over my house,I would usually go there or stay at their house.
My friends would come over though,but I mostly ended up at their house.
I'm actually just realizing that I never really got to spend quality time with my mom,she was never around.
My aunts were basically always watching over me practically my whole life.
I knew mother wasn't the brightest person,but I was doing almost all the work at the house to keep it clean and together.
I'm now realizing that mom couldn't even really take care of me,maybe that's why I'm so dependent,I can do almost anything a mom could on my own ever since I was little.
I was spending most of my childhood at my aunts' and uncles' houses,growing up with them,living with them.
I'm now realizing this at 13,almost 14 years old.
I'm going into 8th grade,wow.
I never thought of this.
Next time when/if I do see them,I want to thank them for all they've done that my mother really couldn't do.
I felt a little broken now,but,I know that the people that have always helped me in the past like my aunts' and uncles' did,was probably better for me.
I just don't know when I'm going to see them again or if I will..
I've now found my dad and I'm now living with him and his family.
I think my life will be taking a turn for the best now,my life has already changed a lot and I've been here for almost 2 full months now.
I'm happier than I was before,I'm growing closer to Billie and his family as time progresses.
I'm still shocked that Billie is my dad though,but,I'm happy.
Before,I wasn't happy,now,I am.
Which is good for me and probably the problems I have or have had in the past.
I snapped out of my thoughts when somebody knocked at my door,
I walked over to the door and opened it.
Billie stood in the doorway,
"Are you okay?You've been up here for a while now."He asked.
"I'm fine,I was just finishing up unloading."I said.
He nodded,"Just come on down when you're done."He smiled,walking downstairs.
I shut the door and finished up the rest of unloading all the things.
I shut the closet door and quickly opened the laptop in my room and typed in the school that I'd be going to's website.
I then walked out of my room and downstairs.
Billie was sitting at the counter in the kitchen on the computer.
He looked over,"Mr.Conrad told me to have you sign up for classes on the website.I just logged you in so you could do it."He said.
(MESSAGE TO YOU ALL I REALLY DONT KNOW HOW'D THIS REALLY WORK SO I'M JUST DOING IT MY OWN WAY.)
I nodded and walked over.
"So,in your old school were you in accelerated English or no?"He asked.
"No."I said.
He clicked on a button that read,ENGLISH(8).
"Were you in accelerated Math?"He asked.
"No."I stated.
He clicked on the MATH(8) button.
Then it went to Social Studies,Science,P.E.
"Alright now electives,these are like extras that you get to do throughout the year,you can chose up to 4."He said.
I walked closer and looked at the screen.
I clicked on 4 electives,
BAND(8)
ART(8)
COMPUTERS(8)
and for the final,
MUSIC(8).
Then I hit the submit button.
"Mr.Conrad said the results should be here in a couple days."Billie said as a little 'Thank You!' note popped up on the screen.So cliché.
I nodded,"Where's Adrienne,Joey,and Jakob?"I asked as I realized they weren't here.
"Adrienne took the boys to get some clothes to go back for school."He said.
I nodded.
"But,"he said getting off the stool.
"Mike invited us to his house and he had this huge pool!Do you want to go?Billie asked.
"Yes!I'd love to!"I smiled.
"Awesome,Adrienne said that she'll take the boys out tonight and me and you can just chill with the homies."Billie smiled,wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
I laughed,
"Go get what you need,get in your bathing suit,and meet me back down here.Okay?"He asked.
"Alright."I said.
He smiled and walked off.
I went upstairs and went into my room.
I grabbed a small bag and put in a scooby-doo towel,I've had it for a couple years,and then I packed my MP3 player and earbuds in the bag.
I then went into the closet and grabbed my bathing suit,I never really felt comfortable around people in my bathing suit since it was a 2 piece.
I shrugged and grabbed the bathing suit and walked into the bathroom and changed into it.
I walked out of the bathroom after done changing and put a t-shirt and a pair of shorts over it.
I found a pair of sunglasses and also put them in,
I then put back on my socks and converse,I despise flip flops or sandals,and walked down stairs.
"Ready?"Billie asked as I reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Yeah."I said.
He grabbed the keys and a towel that was on the counter and we exited the house.
We went into the car,Billie started the car and pulled out of the driveway.
"How big would you say Mike's pool is?"I asked,looking at Billie.
He laughed,"Big."He stated.
I smiled,"Very detailed."I said in a sarcastic tone.
"I know right."He said sarcastically.
I laughed.
"You'll just have to wait and see."He said as we pulled up to a big and nice looking house with a couple cars in the drive way.
