After spending a few more days with Sam in LA, the day they were both dreading had finally rolled around. It was time for Freddie to head back to Seattle, his flight was booked, and his things were packed. If he had the choice, Freddie would have stayed in LA as long Sam wanted him to. Unfortunately, Freddie had to get home, his mother probably would've had a heart attack if he was gone any longer; and he had already missed close to two weeks of school.

Sam tried hard to act unphased by the whole situation around Cat, but it was killing her, she didn't want Freddie to leave. The girls were waiting on the couch, while Freddie finished gathering his things in the other room.

"You okay?" Cat asked. Obviously Cat knew how upset Sam was even though she was trying to disguise it.

"Yep" she responded. She clearly wasn't okay; but, Cat opted not to bug her about her feelings this time around.

Cat placed her hand on Sam's shoulder and said "Thanks for staying here with me, you're a good friend."

Sam nodded her head in response, swallowing the lump in her throat.

"Okay, I think I have everything. I guess it's time." Freddie said, walking in from the other room.

Sam looked on in silence, a silence that was all too familiar. The same silence she had sitting at the kitchen counter in Spencer's apartment before her best friend Carly left for Italy.

"Alright, well we're just waiting on our ride" Cat said breaking the silence. She had asked Beck to give Freddie a ride to the airport.

"Sounds good" Freddie said.

Once Beck had arrived at their apartment...

*ding dong*

"That must be Beck" Cat said.

Sam let out a sigh under her breathe as she stood up.

Cat answered the door to greet Beck, who wasn't alone. Jade tagged along, and so did Robbie.

"Hey" everybody said.

"Wow, the gangs all here" Freddie said sarcastically.

Cat introduced Beck and Freddie to each other.

"I think we've met before" Beck said, "You were with Sam back at that party at Kenan Thompson's house."

"Yeah, that was me" Freddie confirmed, "Thanks for offering the ride."

"No problem."

"Alright, alright! Let's get going" Sam interrupted sternly as she quickly exited the apartment.

"She alright?" Beck asked.

"Yeah, she's just upset" Freddie said.

Cat nodded her head at Beck in agreement.

They followed Sam out and packed Freddie's bags into the car and headed off to the airport.

On the car ride over, Sam and Freddie sat crammed together in the back seat with Cat and Robbie while Jade sat up front. Sam was silent for most of the ride. Hidden behind her strong appearance, Sam was very upset. Surely she wanted to spill her heart out to Freddie, but she'd never be that nubby in front of everyone. A part of her was agitated, being stuffed in a car with four other people wasn't exactly how she hoped to spend her last moments with Freddie. Freddie knew Sam wasn't happy, as he wasn't exactly excited about leaving himself. He slid his hand over towards hers, interlocking his fingers with her. Sam was staring down at her lap when she felt Freddie's hand grab hers. She looked up at him and her eyes were met with Freddie's smile. Freddie's thumb caressed the back of her hand as their fingers were interlocked. Despite the awkward presence of everyone else, and Sam's already upset demeanor, Freddie manage to make her feel a little better in that moment. She gave him a quick smile before resting her head on his shoulder, attempting to have some sort of final moment of intimacy with him.

When they arrived at the airport, Sam looked down at her lap, letting out a faint sigh under her breath.

"Well, guess it's goodbye already" Beck said to Freddie.

"Yeah, thanks again for the ride" Freddie thanked him, "Jade nice meeting you, and I guess you too Robbie..."

"Hey now that we're such good friends, maybe I'll plan a trip to Seattle so we can hang out again" Robbie said.

"No no, that's alright" Freddie responded.

"It'd be great!"

"No really, don't" Freddie begged before getting out of the car.

"See ya guys later" he said one more time.

Cat accompanied Sam as she went with Freddie to the gate where his flight was. The others waited for Sam and Cat back in the car.

Walking through the airport with Freddie, Sam continued holding his hand. Freddie felt her grasp grow tighter with each step they took as they got closer to the security gate. Reaching the security gate, Sam couldn't follow him beyond this point. It was time for final goodbyes.

Cat knew Sam wanted to be alone with Freddie so she made an excuse to let them be. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom, so I'll just say bye now" Cat said, "It was nice meeting you Freddie, I'll keep Sam out of trouble."

Freddie laughed, "Sounds good, see ya later Cat."

Sam finally had a moment alone with Freddie, unfortunately it was nothing to be happy about. Her heart was breaking, as was Freddie's.

"So, I guess this is bye..." Freddie said.

Sam swallowed the lump in her throat as she slightly nodded her head. She managed to hold back her tears once again. She's one tough girl.

"For now." Freddie added, smiling.

Sam smiled back.

He pulled her into his arms, and they shared a final embrace. Sam pulled him back tighter when he went to pull away, one last attempt to savor the moment. When they finally did pull away from each other, their hands interlocked again. Their eyes met with each others. Silent staring as they both held in their emotions.

"I love you" Freddie said.

"I love you too" Sam replied, her voice cracked slightly.

Freddie acknowledged it with a chuckle in an attempt to break the overlying sadness of the situation.

"Sorry" she replied cleverly.

Freddie laughed.

Even in the most sad and awkward situations, Sam still found time to harass the nub.

Their laughter simmered down...

"I'll see you soon" Freddie said.

"Count on it" Sam confirmed.

Freddie walked towards the gate and began to go through the security process as Sam watched from a distance. Once he made it through, he turned back and waved goodbye once more as Sam waved back. And a few short seconds later, Freddie was lost in the sea of people...
