-Anthony's POV-
I was having a great time at Ian's birthday party. Talking with people I hadn't seen in a while. Taking a shot here and there with some stranger or friend for reasons that sometimes didn't even make sense. But I did find myself looking for Holly a lot. After she left to get more alcohol, she never returned. And I ended up leaving someone mid-conversation when I saw her blue hair shining outside on the patio. I pushed my way through the crowd and saw Ian and Holly staring at Melanie, Ian's ex-girlfriend, with wide eyes.
"What's going on?" I asked, stepping outside on the porch.
"Your fucking girlfriend kissed my boyfriend!" Melanie yelled, pointing at the two of them. Holly scratched behind her head and Ian hung his head in shame.
"What?" I croaked, looking over at Holly who was avoiding my gaze with every effort.
"Anthony, it's not..." Ian tried to tell me.
I didn't even let him finish before I stepped forward, grabbed Holly's hand, and dragged her out of the party. I stopped on the porch and turned so I was facing her. We could still hear the music blasting and loud conversations from inside.
"Please tell me that I didn't just see what I saw, Hol," I begged. She remained silent, her head hung low. But her silence said it all. "Why? Why would you do this to me?" I continued.
Instead of a response she made a gagging sound before bending forward and emptying the contents of her stomach on the cement beneath our feet. I looked away in disgust. I turned back to see Holly wiped her mouth with the back of wrist.
"I'm sorry, Anthony. I...I didn't mean to," She finally apologized. "I don't know what I was thinking."
I sighed, "Why would you do this to me?" I repeated.
"I told you, Anthony, I don't know what I was thinking!" She cried, stepping over her vomit so she was closer to me, "I was drinking and he just said some things and..."
"Like what?" I inquired, crossing my arms over my chest.
She bit her lip before murmuring under her breath, "I...I can't tell you."
"Why not?"
"Because if I told you, then you and Ian wouldn't be friends anymore," She answered softly. I stared at her blankly, thinking of all of the things that Ian could've told her that would tear him and me apart. "I just can't tell you, Anthony," She added.
"You know, you haven't been able to tell me a lot of things lately," I pointed out, "And you know what else? I don't think you ever got over Ian, no matter how many times you told me you were." Her arms dropped to her sides, "I can't date you anymore knowing that you still have feelings for Ian, Holly."
Her eyes opened wide, "Anthony, I'm..."
"No, no you're not," I cut her off. She crossed her arms over her chest, "You never were. And I can't believe it took me this long to realize it. And I can't believe I actually thought I had a chance with you. I did some stupid, mean thing just so you would like me. I don't know what I was thinking when I thought that you would want to date someone who lied to you."
"Anthony..." She put her hands on my shoulders.
"No, we're done, Holly," I plucked her hands from my shoulders and placed them by her sides, "I'm going home," I told her before stepping down from the porch and walked, which really turned into a run, over to my house. I stepped through the front door and slammed it shut behind me.
-Holly's POV-
I woke up to the light from the crack in my curtains shining directly in my face. My head throbbed and the chirping from the birds outside my window and the muffled sounds from the cars that passed by seemed louder than usual. I moaned before pulling my covers over my face and turning on my side, away from the light. I peeked over the covers to look at my digital clock that sat on my desk - 1:49 p.m. I sat straight up before swinging my legs over my bedside and rushing downstairs.
"Well look who finally decided to get up," Joey greeted from the couch. He glanced over at me and smirked.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" I yelled at him as I finished descending the stairs, "Today I was supposed to be playing with Anthony and Ian in a GameTime today! At noon!"
He gave me a confused look, "I thought that got canceled."
I plopped down beside him, "No. Why would it get canceled?"
Joey turned towards me, "You honestly don't know why?" I shook my head no, "Anthony...he broke up with you last night, Hol. You were crying about it all last night."
My eyes widened. I thought that was just a bad dream I had. Ian and I kissed. Melanie ruined the moment, and to make things worse, Anthony came in behind her. Ian tried to explain what happened when Anthony grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me out of the house. He accused me of still having feelings for Ian and then stormed off, saying he couldn't date me anymore. I went back inside and went straight into the kitchen. I pulled out an unopened bottle of vodka from the fridge and sat down on the cold, kitchen floor before starting to down the alcoholic drink, tears streaming down my cheeks. I put my hands up to my mouth as tear started to form in my eyes.
"You honestly don't remember that?" Joey inquired.
"I...I thought it was a dream," I retorted through my hands.
He wrapped his arm around my back and pulled me close to him. I buried my face into his shoulder and sobbed my eyes out.
-Ian's POV-
"Come on, Anthony," I begged Anthony. But it was really the white door that I was leaning against who I was talking to. "We've got a GameTime to record."
I didn't hear anything, so it startled me when the door swung open. The room was completely dark. I didn't even think Anthony in there, but he soon stepped forward into the light from the hallway. He looked terrible. His hair was a spiky mess and he had bags under his eyes. I wondered if he got any sleep last night.
"You ready?" I asked.
"Does it look like I'm ready?" Anthony growled at me.
I sighed, "Look, it wasn't my decision to call it quits with Holly. That was all you," I poked him in the bare chest.
"But I wouldn't have broken up with her if she still didn't have feelings for you!" He shouted, pushing me away from him. I stumbled back into the wall, shaking the little Yoshi pictures on impact. I stared at him with wide eyes as he walked past me and into the bathroom, closing the door loudly behind him.
"Well if it makes any difference, she never said she loved me back!" I yelled after him before sighing and walking out into the front room.
