Chapter 2

Janice's POV:

That night it was pretty awkward. When I followed Arthur into the room, I realised there was only one bed in the room." No.. no.. NO.. THIS CANT BE HAPPENING " I thought. I was so not ready to share a bed with someone, especially a GUY whom i dont even KNOW properly. I wanted to crawl into a corner and die. Arthur was staring at me with his intense purple eyes. I accidently made eye contact with him and quickly looked away like nothing happened.
" Um.. hello? " Arthur said studying me. I felt his gaze on my back even though I obviously wasnt looking at him. I didnt want to face him. There was something about his eyes which made me feel helpless and weak.
" H..hi.. " I stuttered without moving. This wasnt like me, I was suddenly starting to feel super tense. I dont trust Arthur. There is just something about him. Something...
" Well.. only one bed.. huh?... " he asked awkwardly. Gosh.. I just wish he would ignore me.
" Um.. yeah.. haha.. " I replied twirling my hair around my pinkie finger.
" You are a girl.. so.. you sleep on the bed... " he said slowly. I felt him lower his gaze.
" What? No.. you should sleep on it.. i would sleep on the floor.. " I replied back.
" Shut up, your sleeping on the bed and im sleeping on the floor " he said in the same slow voice.
" No you shut up.. Im used to sleeping on the floor so you shall sleep on the bed and I will sleep on the floor! " I turned towards him and replied in frustration.
" You think im not used to it?? Well, you, young lady, you are sleeping on the bed and thats it!! As your elder, which i probably am though i dunno your age, i must sleep on the floor!!! " he was starting to get annoyed.
" Look, why dont we both sleep on the floor then? " i suggested, deciding to end it.
" Well.. im fine with it.. i guess.. " he agreed.  
And thats how we both ended up sleeping on the floor

Arthur's POV:

I went into the assigned room to take my rest before the trials as adviced. I sensed Janice following me, her footsteps faintly heard on the stone floor. I scanned the room at first. There was nothing other than one king sized bed in the room. I stupidly searched for another bed when it finally sank in. There was only one bed in the room. And my roommate is a girl. Im supposed to share a bed with a girl i barely know.

I looked around for Janice. She was standing near a corner of the room studying me. Our eyes met for a split second and she quickly turned away, turning her back to me. She seemed to be lost in thought.
" Um.. hello? "
" Well.. only one bed.. huh?... " I said trying to break the awkward atmosphere. I was doing a pretty bad job at it though.
" Um.. yeah.. haha.. " Janice replied, her back still turned towards me. " how rude " i thought to myself a little annoyed.
" You are a girl.. so.. you sleep on the bed... " I sounded sexist but really, no guy would sleep on the bed and make a girl sleep elsewhere unless they are extremely heartless.
" What? No.. you should sleep on it.. i would sleep on the floor.. " she replied quickly.
" Shut up, your sleeping on the bed and im sleeping on the floor " I was starting get annoyed.
" No you shut up.. Im used to sleeping on the floor so you shall sleep on the bed and I will sleep on the floor! " She said turning towards me with a frustrated expression on her face.
" You think im not used to it?? Well, you, young lady, you are sleeping on the bed and thats it!! As your elder, which i probably am though i dunno your age, i must sleep on the floor!!! " I said at the stubborn short and cute but bratty girl. Yes that's my description of her.
" Look, why dont we both sleep on the floor then? " She suggested finally taking a hint i was annoyed.
" Well.. im fine with it.. i guess.. " I said thoughtfully. Well, i can always transport her to the bed when she falls asleep.
But that night I never got the chance to. Because i was completely worn out, I fell asleep a few second after i lied down.

???'s POV:

Lancis and Merlin were already asleep. The camera captured nothing much. Just that they crawled into the bed but stayed as far from each other as possible. Plain and Kayla were still awake. They seem to be talking about something funny. Its quiet obvious they are as they were laughing so hard you could actually see down their throats. Lex was fast asleep. It was Arthur and Janice's turn. I heard a very loud argument as i was walking by their room. So this is probably gonna be interesting. Oh my, they were not sleeping on the bed! They were both sleeping on the floor far away from each other.
" Hmm.. interesting.. " i said to myself as a i noted the results down. First trial was going to start tomorrow. It was going to be an interesting challenge. Suddenly the door to my office opened.
" His majesty wants to see you. He needs help in deciding the trials and figured you would be the best. " Collins, King Toby's favourite guard had come to accompany me to him.
" Heh okay, lets go. "
