Chapter 4

Plain's POV

I stood nervously facing the huge man infront of me. Oh why oh why oh why did i pick this person? He is going to destroy me!! I mean im so weak i could barely lift a waterbottle and i expected myself to fight him??? The dude is practically as huge as a small house!!! I thought as i studied the guard.
" 3.. 2.. 1.. You may begin now.. " announced King Toby. Just as those words left his mouth, the guard was on to me. As he ran towards me his hands balled into fists, i noticed that he is rather slow. I waited until the last second to dodge his first punch, his fist almost hitting my face. I slipped behind him and as he searched for me, i shoved him forwards. He tripped and during that time, i took my opportunity to look around me for an object because i knew he wouldnt fall so easily. There was really nothing around that i could use, just a couple of pebbles and a small sheet of cloth a few metres away. I sensed the guard's presence behind me and ducked to a side before he got a chance to knock me down. " You gotta be quicker than that bud " i said looking at his face. He growled as he stepped closer. I started to back away but then i noticed a rope tied from one rock to another a couple of distances away. I decided to try to make him fall by tripping on that. " Catch me if you can " i stuck my tongue out at the dude before running away and stood directly infront of the rope. He stood his ground for a little while then started making his way towards me slowly at first but then picking up speed. Like a dragonfly flying towards a spider web, he was caught in my trap. I moved away at the last minute and he noticed the rope but it was too late. He tripped and fell, ending the game. I turned around to the others and saw that they were watching me, their eyes filled with amazement. Im quite amuzed as well. I never actually expected me to win.
" And the winner is.. Plain! " King Toby announced. I beamed as i made my way back to the others.

King Toby's POV

Plain's fight was quite amuzing. For a kid, she is pretty quick and light on her feet. Im impressed. I noticed that the other contestants were too. Their eyes lit up with interest as they all watched her fight. Well not everyone. Arthur was lost in his thoughts and Lex sharpening his nails. Probably to use them in his turn. Janice also seems lost in her mind. Lancis never took his eyes off the game for one second. He was probably the most interested out of all of them.
Then i decided to call the next pair to duel. " Arthur and Tristen, will you both please step forward? " They stepped forward from their different sides each firmly stood their ground, studying each other. " You may begin now " i said after doing the countdown.

Arthur's POV

I studied Tristen. He was a scrawny dude. Very bony and looked very fragile. This is gonna be easy.. i thought with a smirk. Boy, i underestimated him because as soon as the game began, Tristen completely vanished from sight. " Huh? " i was shocked. " Surprise " a voice whispered behind me. I turned around and came face to face with Tristen. I balled my hands into fists and aimed a punch on his face. A second before it was to come in contact, he was gone in a " woosh! ". " Behind you " Tristen whispered. I turned around but no one was there. Tristen is on quick guy. Either that or he is just magic. Suddenly i felt a jab at my side and sudden pain somewhere around my back. " Pokey Poke " i heard Tristen say somewhere around me. I felt confused and lost. As i stood there not knowing what i should do, Tristen slipped his arm around my neck and tried to choke me. I gasped for air and instinctively, i pushed my elbow back as hard as i can and heard a loud crack as it came in contact with his ribs. He let go of me and fell to the ground gasping for air. " sorry... " i muttered under my breath as i made my way to my seat. I noticed Janice looking at me weirdly. I wonder what her problem is.. i thought as i slipped into my seat and instantly entered a world of my own.
